My musical resolutions: So far, so good

Greetings!

Towards the tale end of last year 2024, I made a new year musical statement of intent and vow which is now my new year resolution. Making my resolutions towards the tale end of that last year was a thing of joy to me and it really came at the right time of the year. The reason being that, I was already tired of my musical journey as I couldn't or was unable to actualize most of my last year statement of intent written both on the sticky note and on the tablet of my heart. So, it's so tiring by the tale end of the year.

So, by that period in time which was the tale end of the last year, I was so hopeful of the things to come in the next year and for this reason, I sat down within the comfort of my room and had a retreat of what I have achieved so far in the year that was running to an end back then on my on my musical resolutions for the year. It was then I realized I didn't really achieve much, maybe because of my attitudes to things that last year. So, when I realized this, I decided to make a master plan with strong will to carrying out these plans in the coming year 2025, which I did very well. Then, I made a strong statement of intent and vow based on what was obtainable to me majorly on my musical career. Also, I included those things I was unable to achieve last year in my set resolutions. So, in my new year resolution for this year, I really planned to achieve more in terms of learning new musical skills, voice training, musical instruments training and a whole lot more.

Hmmm, so far so good, I can say my musical career and journey has moved from the base to another level, though not where it's supposed to be yet, but with the little weeks we have spent in the year, I can say I'm making progress in learning new musical skills, instruments and in the training of my voice which has been a source of joy to me. Thank God my voice is changing from what it used to be to a sonorous voice.

Though faced with challenges, most especially the challenge of time factor, I have been able to shuttle my way through the challenges to making progress. In the month of January, out of no time, I made sure I created time for my musical training by enrolling for a musical class, but this time around, it's a evening class, I did this because my tight schedules both in the evening and afternnoon. So for this reason, I opted for the evening class.

So, I have not in any way missed any of my musical training classes since I enrolled and that has really helped me in mastering some note on the keyboard or piano, which has really helped me in improving from where and what I used to be to gradually becoming a professional. Also, on the keyboard or piano, I have also learnt more about hand positioning and finger placement. Seriously, I'm happy to have enrolled to train myself on how to improve on playing my piano.

Also, masteriing of other people's work has always being on top of my musical to do list for the year, this I have been doing to the best of my ability and this I do by listening to other people musical works. So, there's no day I would not listen to songs of other people and this is one of the reasons I have been making immense progress on my musical resolutions. Anytime ,anyday, I put on my headset or earpods to listen to different genres of music written and composed by others. So, with this, I have been able to write and compose my own songs. It's a great achievement for me even in the space of weeks.

Even in the church, I have also made tremendous progress in the handling of various musical instruments, thanks to my knowledge of the piano, now, I am now a force to be reckon with. I'm the X factor in the church choir and I'm happy with that. Then to lead the worship or praise section in the church has always been my headache, but now and with the little progress I have made so far, I now lead the section with full confidence and courage.

So far, so good, I have been able to do my bit when it comes to my musical RESOLUTIONS, though coping with it has not really been a walk in the park with so many challenges coming my way just to hinder me from actualizing my musical goal and resolution for the year, but with discipline and strong will I have been able to weather the storm and overcome the challenges within the little weeks we have spent so far in this new year and going forward, I believe I will make more progress and this is because we still have plenty of time to spare in the new year 2025. So, with me maintaining this current pace of mine with determination, the sky will be my starting point in the actualization of my musical resolutions.
