Music as a lingua franca
Greetings!
Music is undoubtedly a language in its own right, and it's the language of the world, spoken by all tribes, religions, ethnic groups and nations.

As we all know that language is a means of communication, music as a universal language communicates faster than music and this is because it's globally acceptable to other languages that have cultural barriers unlike music which has no barrier whatsoever but only beats the reach.
The beat and other embellishments that come with music make it more acceptable to everyone. Indeed, music is the heartbeat of the world and no one can dissociate themselves from music.
Having said this, I would like to delve into what makes music a universal language. If looked at critically, one would know and appreciate music to be the universal language that unite every tribe and nation of the world and this is because music is one thing that transcends linguistic and cultural barriers through its emotional resonance, non-verbal communication and so on.
Some time ago, in the early 2000s, a French song became more popular in my part of the world, despite being a predominantly English-speaking country, the Awilo Logumba song really got every thrilled and we really enjoyed the vibe of the music without understanding the lyrics of the song per se, but because of the universality of the music as a language, we were able to decide the message of the song through its emotional appeal, and dancing steps plus the rhymes and rhythm as brought to us by the singer in his video.
Therefore, I would say that music's emotional resonance and the non-verbal communication enable it to transcend linguistic and cultural barriers, making it the universal language of the world.
While we have many languages tied to our tribes and ethnic groups, music is different. These languages are limited in their scope, being local and understood only by native speakers, whereas music has a global speech.
In addition to emotion and non-verbal communication, music is also a language of love, joy and sorrow. One of the best ways to express love in the world is via music and this makes music a universal language of love which helps to unite every individual person in the world and as well as nations of the world.

Furthermore, the joy being shared through music makes it the universal language of the world. You see people in their joyous mood playing and dancing to music which they understand or did not understand at all but because it's music, they express their joy and happiness.
In addition, music as a universal language is used to also express sorrow. When we are to express our condolences with other people of the world, we use music to do so.
Also, when talking about music being the universal of the world, we would be talking about the roles of music in professions. Professions such as teaching, medicine, sport, drama and the likes have music as its official language.
I have seen where music is used in teaching just to teach people. This is because when one learns through music, it would be more easy to understand and assimilate at a high rate. Also, in medicine, music is a universal language for healing and in sport it's a mode of entertainment.
In conclusion, music is undoubtedly a lingua franca of the world, transcending borders and nations.
