Love over wickedness

Greetings!

Loving others doesn't mean that we are weak, in fact, if we love others, we love ourselves in return as it would go a long way in getting back at us. Although, it's vice versa as hatred would also get back to us with time if it's that path of life that we choose.

Some time ago, when we were young, there's this woman who happened to be the wife of my mum's younger brother. This woman because of her husband's wealth would not respect anybody not to talk of showing them love.

There's a time my mum and I spent a night at their place as we could not continue with our journey from Lagos to Benin city. On getting to their place, she started misbehaving and I could remember vividly how she called her husband to a corner of the house that day asking him thus;

“Who asked them to come?” “Who?” The husband asked. “You elder sister and her son,” she replied. “Nobody, they said they were passing by and that it's night already, so they will be passing the night here,” the husband said. “Who did they call to take permission from?” she asked. “My sister called me and I told her there's no problem,” he replied. “Did you now inform me?” She asked. “Ehnn, I was trying your number but it was unreachable,” the husband said. “Oh, it was unreachable?” She asked. “Yes, unreachable, do you have any issue with their coming?” He asked. “Yes and this is because I didn't have any plans for any visitors tonight,” she replied. She continued and said, “make sure you take care of them and get them something to eat.”

After she had said this, she went directly into her room to sleep, she left the husband confused as the husband didn't want us to know what was going on in the house, but one thing was that, we had overheard everything and acted as if we had nothing.

The husband came to us and defended his wife telling us she's not feeling fine and that if we don't mind, she can take us out that night to get us things to eat, but my mum having heard everything told the husband that we would be fine and that's when the husband was relieved of the mental stress which his wife had caused him.

So, on the following morning, which was a Sunday, my mum woke me up early and asked me to pack our things and after we had prayed together with the family that early morning, we set out for the park and started our joining back home with an empty stomach. It's when we got home that we ate, thank God for my elder sister who was around. She was the one that prepared the meal before we came back home.

However, after several years, things were not as rosy as it was for my mum, younger brother and her family again and it's the wife's that got healed and the sickness was so severe that the husband had spent a whole lot of money to save her life.

Although, the husband didn't actually tell my mum on time and it took him like up to five months to report the issue to my mum. This came after he had spent his last card and also borrowed his last card from his friends who wouldn't have borrowed her if they should judge the wife by her action, but they didn't judge her by her action, but by her husband's action.

When my mum heard about her condition and what my uncle had passed through within the last 5 months, she was devastated and promised to help her brother using her connection in the society.

So, the following day, my mum started contacting her friends at home and abroad, some of whom are medical practitioners and it's one of them who asked my mum if she could raise money for her to be flown abroad for proper treatment.

When my mum had heard what her friend had said, she started raising fund for her with so many of her friends who she had helped in one way or the other paying her back. She eventually raised the money for her and she was flown abroad and that's how she was treated and saved from the jaws of death.

So, after she had gotten well,she was flown back home and there she began to realize that life is not lived by the way she had been living it and that's how she was moving from one place to the other to seek forgiveness from people who she had offended, this she did passionately after her husband had told her what had happened to her and how people responded. She was amazed to have been shown love after all her negative deeds to people around her.
