According to Hebrew 7:9, bro. Eli Soriano made us understand that the Levi are those that have been selected to pay tithe. He said amongst the twelve tribes of isreal that were brought to Canaan, only the Levi were not given land to cultivate while others were given. He said, for this reason, the Levi were to collect the 10 percent of the harvest of the other tribes.

So, with this, the Levi are entitled to the tithes and also, the Christians are obligated to pay tithes.

But because of new law, the Levi have now been replaced by the priest in which Jesus Christ is the chief priest.

Also, according to Hebrew 7:23, bro. Eli made us to understand that the old priest or levites are or can be subjected to death, but the new priesthood through Jesus Christ cannot suffer death. Which means the priesthood in the time of moses is quite different from the new order.

So, the summary of everything here is that, tithes are obligation of the Christian which must be paid by them to the levites and also, the new law has brought about a change in the priesthood with Jesus christ as the head of the new order.
