Coding by choice not compulsion

The advent of technology has really made things easy for everyone and doing things now has been made easy for many of us. Not only that, having access to things such as information and communication has been made easy by the coming of technology, but one thing about all these things that has made life easy for us is that, it comes with codes.

Having talked and dwell so much on the importance of technology, I would like to make my point known about the topic which is about the making of coding and programming compulsory in the school for children at their early stage in life.

Well, to me, I'm not in support of making coding and programming compulsory to children as a field of learning in the school and this is because it will violate the right of children on what suits them most, aside this, it will also violate their right of making choice.

Though, coding and programming is good and this is because of its effect on our daily lives as the world has become a world where technology holds sway. Nothing in this world can be done without the help of technology any longer unlike before when things were done manually with the help and aid of technology.

That's then, but now that we are in the digital world, things has really changed and having the technical know-how of how to operate technological via coding and programming would be of help to the individual person in the society and most especially the younger ones who by learning it at their early stage of life would have been used to it and make things happen through it now or in the nearest future through inventions and in other ways which is okay.

But, forcing them to learn it at their own expense through the use of force or making it compulsory would not even allow the nation or those who have made it compulsory get the necessary and required result. This is because anything done with force or by compulsion would not always bring about the required result, but if there's anyone of them who has shown interest in learning it, then they should be guided towards learning in a better and serene environment. They should equally be encouraged to show interest in learning it as it's needed in society.

While I have been saying this, in the learning or educational system, there's something called individual differences and for anyone or system to get the desired result from the learning process being put in place, then the individual differences of everyone involved must be well respected. For instance, we have some that their interest and strength is into sport, some into creativity and others into artistry. So, forcing down coding and programming their throat would not speak well for their learning process and it would also be a clog in the shell of their development in such a field. So, it's better to make it open instead of compulsion as this will help us to make headway in the technological world. Though it's good, it must not be made compulsory.
