Climatic Change||Causes and Effects

Greetings!

Climate change, which is the warming of the planet due to an increase in average global temperatures.

The change in the climatic conditions is one thing we humans have been grappling with for so long. It started with the advent of development in our various communities.

As everywhere is now developed, there's been a huge change in the climatic spectrum of the earth. Now, such development such as building and road construction has led to deforestation which in one way or the other has its effects on our society.

The cutting or falling down of trees has really exposed our society to a whole lot of danger. I remember those days when there were enough trees in my secondary schools. Then, there's nothing like wind blowing off the roof of our school.

But nowadays, the cutting down of trees has really changed the climatic situation of our area. Now, you see the roofs of schools, most especially the one in our neighborhood being blown off by wind just because of deforestation.

So, deforestation is one of the causes of climatic change, and it's really caused and wreaked havoc on our immediate environment.

In fact, it's a major source of natural disasters in my own neighborhood. Houses are now left without roofs and people are now being rendered homeless just because of this.

Aside from this, the building of houses on the waterways has really brought about climatic change in the society of today.

Although the government has been making an effort to prevent building on the waterways so as to avoid flooding, people due to their selfish nature, refuse to stop building on waterways.

However, their insistence on building on the waterways has really brought about flooding which is a natural disaster to various households, rendering many of our people who even didn't build on the waterways homeless.

Aside from this, it's even claimed many lives as this issue of flood has taken away innocent souls from among their loved ones.

Furthermore, people turning their drainages into dustbins is another cause of climatic change. This has really brought our society to a death trap as floods have overtaken us. Just a few weeks back when I was listening to the national news, I heard from the news that a state in the northern part of the country, Niger state, had been overwhelmed by flooding. Also in the same news, the newscaster attributed the flooding to people turning their drainages to dustbins whenever there's rain.

All these factors I have mentioned above are the causes of climatic change and this has really wrecked havoc on our society and its inhabitants.

Though, all these wouldn't have happened if people were well-informed about climatic change and its side effects are all about, but because of the ignorance of people, they now do anyhow and at the end fall victim to their own activities.

Therefore, I blame everyone in the society for the change in climate, I would blame everyone in the society since every one of our daily activities are the cause of this.

In conclusion, I urge the government and authorities to help sensitize the entire populace to put an end to this.

Additionally, I suggest that punishment should be implemented for offenders and everyone should be encouraged to plant a tree each.
