Advice||A golden gift
Greetings!
I would like to start my write up with a popular saying that says, “Giver never lacks.” Indeed, I have never seen a giver or person that genuinely gives with receiving back. So, it's good to give.
Now, without wasting our time, I would like to let us know that giving doesn't mean giving something big or substantial to others or those who are in need.
In fact, giving is not only limited to money or material things. No, it's beyond that. Though, the first thing that runs to our mind when it comes to giving is money, car and other material things, no, it's not.
So, when talking about giving and those things to give, one can give his or her prayer out. Also, there's what we call giving in kind, a piece of advice can be a kind of gift, showing love to people around us can be a precious gift to them and so on. All the aforementioned can be a gift from one person to the other.
Some time ago, when I wanted to venture into a particular business which I had no idea of which is the selling of foodstuffs, I met with a woman whom I see as a potential. Customer. Her name is Mrs Mikel.
When I got to her, I advertised what I was about to start to her and asked her to always patronize me when the time comes.
Immediately I thought I had finished advertising my business to her, she asked if I had done my research about the business which I replied her that I have not. She then explained everything to me and asked me to stop the plan before it's too late.
She advised me to try and invest in other things aside from what would later swallow my investments. She said she's been into this business for over two decades but she has nothing to show for it as people would always owe her money.
But even with all she said, I didn't give her a listening ear as I thought she didn't want me to do the business. So, I went on to start the business, but lo and behold, everything she said and explained to me was all that happened.
It's when this happened that I got to know that her advice was a great gift to me. Though, she gave me her own advice which I should have followed and which would have saved me from the unfortunate loss, but I discarded and later suffered from it.
So, since then, I have never taken money as the only gift from people, but with their advice and kindness, I believe I would make the needed money. So, with my little advice I too have been able to give back to others and my society.
This is my entry to the hiveghana weekly prompt.
Thanks for reading.

Well, I believe you’ve learned a lot from this even if it was the hard way. This only means you know what to do right next time.
I really like how you highlighted advice as one the most overlooked gifts, because it's true. Sometimes, the most life saving help doesn't have to be in the form of money or material things, but in the quiet wisdom someone shares.
