Addiction || When a choice becomes a disease
Greetings!
One thing about this life is that, it comes with a choice. When taking about life choices, it's either to take the right and the other one and one that about taking choices is that, the end result will always takes it toll on us.
Having said this, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt for today which is about “addiction.”
In my own view, when talking about addiction, I wouldn't not want to look at it from a perspective of disease, but choice, but even at that also, there's still an element of disease in it as well.
In furtherance of my discussion on this particular topic, one thing I have got to know is that, addiction is as a result of an habit we are always fond of doing which might be bad or good and this is why I would like to classify addiction as a choice and disease at the same time.
When we have the option of choosing in between two things, then to me, the option given is not a matter of disease but a choice, so, in this aspect, addiction is not a disease to me and this is because we only choose as individuals the habit that we like.
However, after choosing an habit which now become our daily routine and we get addicted to it, now comes the diseases part of it.
Humans are the kind that when they are used to doing something find it difficult to leave such a thing, most especially something that's not too good.
So, our difficulties in dropping those things we have got addicted to makes it a disease for us as humans and this is a stage where we will be looking for a way to cure and heal ourselves from such acts or addiction.

I have seen some people who are addicted to taking drugs. These people cannot even do anything or perform their daily activites without taking drugs, there's some other people that are addicted to sexual feelings. These same set of people would not even go a day without doing it.
To me, when this first started, it started as a choice, when they have to choose between taking drug or not and also havinv s3x on a daily basis or not. So, it's their choice that now become an addiction to them and now they are finding hard to break loose from their addiction.
Their difficulties in breaking loose from their addictions has now graduated from the stage of them making a choice to become a disease which they are now trying to cure by the way of stopping it which might be so difficult if care is not taking and also if their determination of stopping it is not thaf there.
In conclusion, addiction is a matter of choice and at the same time become a disease when the choice had been taken. It's now left for the victim of addiction to take a bold step in curing the disease that have infected themselves with through the choice of their habits.

Humans always find it hard to stop doing things but if that things is only causing you pain, I wonder why hold onto it.
True we humans find it hard to stop certain habits and that is why those habit have become addictive in a way.
Also there are good addictions and there are also bad ones too
Every path we stay on is based off on our choice. If someone wakes up one day and say they'll start smoking,it's a choice. Now when that choice becomes a hardened habit, that's where the problem of addiction starts. And until they take a good look at themselves at the mirror and tell themselves the truth, they're not getting anywhere.
