CORRUPTION

What a word with great meaning. Corruption is a major breakdown of most societies we found ourselves in. Corruption is really a severe Cancer Worm that is eaten deep into the fabric of our dear nation. We have always come across corruption in our lifetime. Corruption is like a friend who is living in a society but causing mayhem in the societies we find ourselves in. People have promised to stop corruption, but nothing looks to change in society because it still living with as. Corruption is one of the predicaments which hinder the progress and development of this nation. Corruption is becoming a big problem and we need to put a stop to it or set some measures to curb it from the societies. I would like to elaborate on some causes and some solutions to curb them.

One cause of corruption is the poor wages (Salary) of government workers. This is one of the major causes of corruption in this country. When the salaries given to workers are too small for them, it will force them to ask for money from others when rendering some service to them. When this happens, public workers start to find ways and means to get more money which can lead to them using corrupt ways to get income. In order to curb this, the government must increase public workers’ salaries.

Weak governance is one of the causes of corruption in the country. The government in the country does not enforce the laws and regulations regarding corruption. There is weak law enforcing corruption in the nation. There are insufficient checks and balances. The government must take into account to enforce the laws against corruption.

One major causes of corruption are unemployment, when an individual has no work, he or she cannot starve but will rather find ways and means to earn a living. Some of these can result in corrupt practices. In order to curb these, the government must ensure that there are jobs for the individual to do. Which can reduce corruption in the nation.

Corruption is really a KILLER in the nation, and we must stand firm to put a stop to corruption. Even though Corruption has really gained ground in the nation and would be difficult to put a stop to it. But if the Government put on certain measures it can reduce corruption and also when people change their mindset on corruption, it will be able to reduce corruption in the nation.
