WRONG SIDE OF THE BED

Today has been anything but fruitful because I think I woke up on the wrong side of bed today if that makes any sense. Today being Sunday, a day for going to church and worshiping God instead found me sleeping on my bed till 9:47 am which was very surprising to me because normally i do wake up by 6 am during the week to prepare for work and even on Saturday I woke up at the same time even though I knew my work was latter in the day, but what happened today? That was the question that baffled me.

Getting up from the bed I already knew I was too late for church because I need to go and fetch water first, then boil it for bathing and also make something to eat before going to the church and all this are time consuming, so I just decided to do my morning devotion and service at home that morning before anything else. After my devotion I decided to check my phone which I left connected to the charger just incase "NEPA" as we call them decided to give us light in the night only to find out that my phone was completely shutdown.

I was so upset to find my phone completely down because I slept leaving my phone with a 5% battery remaining only to wake up to nothing. I hastily took the phone, dress up and stepped out to look for where I can charge the phone because I was expecting a call from my boss later in the day for a scheduled meeting. I decided to take a particular road that I haven't followed before hoping to find a charging center because it haven't been long that I moved into the area and I wasn't yet familiar with the other sides. I walked for a long time before finally locating a kiosk where they charge phone and decided to give him my power bank first to charge because it's my first time there, so I had to be careful.

The kiosk owner then said "they just brought light now oo, seems like you are not aware" and I answered him and said yes, because I just left the house and there was no light and because of that I decided not to give him my phone to charge but opted to charge it at home since there is light, but only for me to reach home and findout that there's no light which left me frustrated that I had to go back and give him my phone this time around to charge. I was frustrated by the distance I had to cover and on reaching there I found out he was using generator which meant that the light was gone before I reached my house and immediately in my presence they brought back the light

On seeing me again, the man laughed and said they took the light when I left but he was sure that the light will stay for sure this time around and I should just charge my phone at home with my power bank which I declined and gave him the phone to charge instead because I might not be having light at home due to different phases. I left his shop and went home and on entering my room, I saw light on my socket and immediately I felt like crying. I sat down first and began contemplating whether to go back or not and I decided to go back because of that particular call from my boss.

This time I decided to take a different road because I saw people following the road and it lead to the major road and I was also hoping that it will be closer to where am going and then lo and behold I came out directly at the front of the kiosk. I laughed at myself and said "if you don't know something, you don't know", because at the end I was just curious about a shorter road and there it was. I came back home sat down and laughed at everything that happened within that short period of time and concluded that "today is not going to be a good day at all".
