EFFECTS OF TECHNOLOGY

The flexible lifestyle that we enjoy today, the accessibility to complicated and difficult things that seem impossible before, the ease of communicating with friends and families that are far away without having to be there and the innovations that we see today all around us is due to the rapid development and advancements in modern technology which has influenced so many things to make life more easier for us.

But as the say, anything that has an advantage must have a disadvantage and for sure there are disadvantages to the rapid development of technology though it depends on which context it is being used. This modern age where technology has taken root and it is still evolving in every direction, real physical connections seems to be loosing it's touch little by little.

Let's say you are talking to your best friend on the phone because it's been awhile since you both saw each other due to either work or distance but as the conversation was still going on you noticed from their voice that something is wrong but when you asked the response you got was "it's fine", "am ok" as they use another tone to mask what they are hiding but you cannot detect whether it's true or a lie.

Better still, if you look at the way the internet has taken away most of our attention especially social media like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and so many more, only then will you understand that so many people are glued to their phones always, chatting with friends or strangers that are far away without even having a connection or knowing who they truly are. The more time we spend on our phones and tablets chatting, the less time we spend with people around us thereby reducing that one to one physical connections.

But regardless of all that, the comfort that technology has provided for us way supersede alot of disadvantage we might think of. I want you to think about the fact that you can just drive your car or order an Uber online to come pick you up and take you to wherever you want to go, or even attend an online lecture from the comfort of your house through applications that renders such services, or better yet sit in your house and order whatever you want from an online shop and within minutes your order is delivered to your door step.

How convenient right? I guess your answer is same as mine because who doesn't want an easy and simple life. Some businesses got their investors through online platforms, some husbands and wife's met through online platforms before marriage and so many more making me to believe that a well balanced lifestyle that integretes both scenarios is very much possible.
