Visit to the Vilma Espín Memorial / Visita al Memorial Vilma Espín

Hello dear travelers. This time I bring you my experience on a different trip, the visit to a house museum.

The University gave us the task of visiting all the things museum of the city so my classroom was divided into small groups, we assigned a museum to each one and so with the collected material we would finish the work.
My group had the chance to visit the Vilma Espín Memorial, the house where Vilma was living for a certain time of her life.

The decoration of the place is amazing. The museologists of the place told us that despite maintaining much of the initial decoration, other details were also added due to various renovations. What was the birthplace was expanded a little with the aim of turning it into a Memorial. The thing is that I loved every detail, his lamps, drawings.

At the beginning of the tour we had some lighting problems because there was no electricity. The rooms we started with are full of paintings and personal objects from the patriot's life. Vilma Espín is a key piece in the history of my country (Cuba).
In what were old rooms of narrate how approximately his first twenty years, there are preserved a parlor set, titles, dresses.

In the next room, some of his best-known phrases are exhibited in laminated paintings, large display cases with personal objects such as decorations, glasses, among others.

His olive green report is also the center of one of the largest and the penultimate rooms of the installation. According to the managers, that was the same uniform that Vilma wore and that they have managed to keep with great care and attention.

The last installation shows more facets Vilma, shows a woman photographer, designer, traveling, politician. It is as if this room groups in itself all the essence that contains the patriot.

A bathtub that is part of that last space caught my attention a lot, its history is much more interesting. It turns out that it was never used by the inhabitants of the house or anything like that, only in the last remodeling they had to break a large part of the floor and restore some pipes, the surprise was that during the excavation they found the bathtub and decided to include it despite not having used it in the plans and decoration of the house. Although strange the idea was great, it attracts a lot of attention and God knows how many years it was hidden there.

As the best thing always comes at the end, here I show you my favorite part of the Memorial, the garden. Since we walked to the second room I felt the aroma of the flowers and it is that the pink creeper ones that are there give off an exquisite aroma, not counting the white ones that fall in love. For a matter of respect and such I didn't leave the museologists talking alone and ran to the courtyard but I confess that since I saw the place through the crack my mind was already there.

The fountain in the center accentuates its beauty a little more. It is definitely the best remodel they did.

The Vilma Espín Memorial is not one of the largest or most striking up close, but it does manage to transport you with its paintings and exhibits and in a certain way also makes you participate in history.

Hola estimados viajeros. En esta ocasión les traigo mi experiencia en un viaje diferente, la visita a una casa museo.

La Universidad nos dio la tarea de visitar todas las cosas museo de la ciudad por lo que mi aula se dividió en pequeños grupos, nos asignamos un museo a cada uno y así con el material recopilado terminaríamos el trabajo.
A mi grupo le tocó la visita del Memorial Vilma Espín, la casa donde Vilma estuvo viviendo cierto tiempo de su vida.

La decoración del lugar es increíble. Las museólogas del lugar nos comentaron que pese a mantener gran parte de la decoración inicial también se agregaron otros detalles debido a distintas remodelaciones. Lo que fue la casa natal se amplió un poco con el objetivo de volverla en Memorial. La cosa es que cada detalle me encantó, sus lámparas, dibujos.

Al inicio del recorrido tuvimos algunos problemas de iluminación debido a que no había fluido eléctrico. Las salas por las que comenzamos están repletas de cuadros y objetos personales de la vida de la patriota. Vilma Espín es una pieza clave en la historia de mi país (Cuba).
En lo que fueron antiguos cuartos de narran cómo aproximadamente sus primeros veinte años, ahí se conservan un juego de sala, títulos, vestidos.

En la siguiente sala están expuestos en cuadros laminados algunas de sus frases más conocidas, grandes vitrinas con objetos personales como lo son condecoraciones, gafas, entre otros.

Su informe verde olivo también es el centro de una de las salas más grandes y la penúltima de la instalación. Según las encargadas ese si fue el mismo uniforme que usó Vilma y que con mucho esmero y cuidado han logrado conservar.

En la última instalación se muestran más facetas Vilma, se muestra una mujer fotógrafa, diseñadora, que viaja, política. Es como que esta sala agrupa en sí misma toda la esencia que contenida la patriota.

Me llamó muchísimo la atención una bañera que forma parte de ese último espacio, mucho más interesante es su historia. Resulta que nunca fue usada por los habitantes de la casa ni nada parecido, solo que en la última remodelación tuvieron que romper gran parte del suelo y restaurar algunas tuberías, la sorpresa fue que en la excavación dieron con la bañera y decidieron incluirla pese a no haberla utilizado en los planos y decoración de la casa. Aunque rara la idea fue genial, llama mucho atención y sabrá Dios cuantos años estuvo oculta ahí.

Cómo lo mejor siempre de ve al final, aquí les muestro mi parte favorita del Memorial, el jardín. Desde que caminamos hacia el segundo cuarto sentí el aroma de las flores y es que las rosadas de enredadera que están allí desprenden un aroma exquisito, sin contar las blancas que enamoran. Por un tema de respeto y tal no dejé a las museólogas hablando solas y corrí al patio pero confieso que desde que vi por la rendija el lugar ya mi mente estaba allí.

La fuente que tiene en el centro acentúa un poco más su belleza. Sin duda es la mejor remodelación que hicieron.

El Memorial Vilma Espín no es de cerca uno de los más grandes ni llamativos pero sí logra transportarte con sus cuadros y objetos expuestos y de cierta forma también te hace partícipe de la historia.
