Review: Yo soy la página que escribo / Review: I am the page I write ✍️

Plasmar mediante líneas toda tu carrera literaria es de las tareas más difíciles. ¿Cómo describirse siendo poeta y encontrando todo en las cosas mas abstractas? Miguel Barnet es un narrador, poeta y antropólogos cubanos que se rehusaba a dar entrevistas de cómo le gustaría que lo recordaran porque es que ni él mismo se había puesto a pensar en todo eso.

La primera vez que me acerqué a las páginas de Barnet fue en artículos sobre identidad, raza, él es uno de los seguidores de Fernando Ortiz, un apasionado de su cultura.

Me enamoré de Barnet con su obra Canción de Rachel, una que sin duda merece otra publicación. La cuestión fue que ese libro me invitó a consultar de este para saber más de su autor.

Yo soy la página que escribo es la frase que le da nombre a mi libro favorito de Miguel y que responde a la gran pregunta: ¿Quién eres?

En las páginas de Barnet pude encontrar respuestas a muchas preguntas que tenía sobre Canción de Rachel, me acerqué más a a la vida de su autor y me nutrí de mucho porque menciona las fuentes en las que se inspira, en las que encuentra consuelo, asombrándome una vez más con la recomendación de la Biblia.

Me identifiqué mucho porque es amigo más que escritor, me apasiona la forma en la que hablaba de sus amigos; de los cuales extrae las vivencias que escribe y así les rinde homenaje. Prefiero hablar de vidas ajenas. Todos somos un poco mas adictos al cotilleo. Colecciono memorias de vidas muy diferentes a la mía, esas vidas no pesan en los bolsillos, no hacen daño.

Esto es algo especial porque también me apoyo en mis amistades, amo hablar de ellos cada dos palabras que escribo.

Este libro es el esfuerzo de dos periodistas (un cienfueguero y un italiano) que por años le pedían a Barnet una entrevista y que gracias a ella contamos con palabras cargadas de la propia voz de este simpar autor.

Miguel es de esas grandes joyas que aún contamos con su presencia física. Vivir junto a él lo más jugoso de su historia me ha fascinado, para futuros filólogos estas cosas son tops, en cada línea lo acompañé y padecí. Leer su testimonio de vida personal y literaria es verse en espejos futuristas para quienes queremos dedicar nuestra vida al arte que son las letras.

Yo soy la página que escribo marcó mi visón como persona, como filóloga y me acercó más a uno de los escritores que admiro.

Es un libro repleto de preguntas contestadas y más allá de preguntas-respuestas, es una cadena de interrogantes que todos nos hicimos en algún momento de la vida. ¿De quién nos nutrimos, cómo nos describimos, cómo nos gustaría ser recordados?

Fue todo un reto para el habanero, ya que es diestro escribiendo novelas testimonios, pero no sus vivencias, sino cercanas, y al desprendernos de las personales para conformar un libro cuesta.

Esta no es una autobiografía ni un libro de memorias. Dice Miguel Barnet que en su modo de ser no encaja eso de contra paso a paso su vida. Para él lo que pueda inportar de su tránsito por el mundo está en las tantísimas páginas que ha escrito, espejos en los que se ha reflejado lo vivido, pensado y sentido en más de ochenta años de existencia

Barnet es más que las páginas que escribe, es la voz de una comunidad literaria, es identidad, es canción, es poesía.

Translating your entire literary career through lines is one of the most difficult tasks. How to describe yourself being a poet and finding everything in the most abstract things? Miguel Barnet is a Cuban storyteller, poet and anthropologists who refused to give interviews about how he would like to be remembered because he hadn't even thought about all that himself.

The first time I approached the pages of Barnet was in articles about identity, race, he is one of the followers of Fernando Ortiz, a passionate about his culture.

I fell in love with Barnet with his work Rachel's Song, one that certainly deserves another publication. The point was that that book invited me to consult this one to know more about its author.

I am the pages I write is the phrase that gives the name to my favorite book by Miguel and that answers the great question: Who are you?

In the pages of Barnet I was able to find answers to many questions I had about Rachel's Song, I got closer to the life of its author and I was nourished by a lot because he mentions the sources from which he is inspired, in which he finds comfort, surprising me once again with the recommendation of the Bible.

I identified a lot because he is a friend more than a writer, I am passionate about the way he talked about his friends; from whom he extracts the experiences he writes and thus pays tribute to them. I prefer to talk about other people's lives. We are all a little more addicted to gossip. I collect memories of lives very different from my own, those lives don't weigh in the pockets, they don't hurt.

This is something special because I also rely on my friendships, I love talking about them every two words I write.

This book is the effort of two journalists (a Cienfuegos man and an Italian man) who have been asking Barnet for an interview for years and thanks to her we have words full of the own voice of this nice author.

Miguel is one of those great jewels that we still have his physical presence. Living next to him the juiciest thing in his history has fascinated me, for future philologists these things are tops, in every line I accompanied him and suffered. To read his testimony of personal and literary life is to see oneself in futuristic mirrors for those of us who want to dedicate our lives to the art that is letters.

I am the pages I write marked my vision as a person, as a philologist and brought me closer to one of the writers I admire.

It is a book full of answered questions and beyond questions-answers, it is a chain of questions that we all asked ourselves at some point in life. Who are we nourished by, how do we describe ourselves, how would we like to be remembered?

It was a real challenge for the Havana native, since he is skilled at writing novels, testimonies, but not his experiences, but close ones, and when we part with the personal ones to make up a book it costs.

This is not an autobiography or a memoir. * Miguel Barnet says that in his way of being that doesn't fit in with his life step by step. For him* what he can bring from his transit around the world is in the very many pages he has written, mirrors in which what he has lived, thought and felt in more than eighty years of existence has been reflected
