Hello everyone, my beautiful hive naija people, it's another beautiful weekend and we are so happy to have you here once again. It's a topic that would always spark endless discussion as people will always have varied perspective about it....
In all honesty, I'm not that so good
Well, I'm not so versed in economics butthe problem has always been, what will the government do with these task they keep on piling up on the already overburdened Nigerians
The government aren't interested in creating avenues for job employment, they aren't inclined on reducing the brain drain going on currently in all sectors of health but are only interested in adding taxes which they will benefit from.
What about the duration? The new task takes effect from January 2026 Which is a very short transitioning period for small scale businesses to adjust and prepare their mind ahead of what is coming which invariably will throw a lot of businesses out of function and they end up looking for alternatives to survival... Mind you, this might be a business that a whole family hopes on making ends meet from.
Help me understand exactly how this helps businesses at all because I don't see anyhow it's aiming at helping them make more profit rather it's aimed at taking the little they have.

So, before the day gets busier than these, lemme drop moi honest take.
Sometimes ago, I watched a video, and it's one have seen about two celebrities talk about as well, I think it was Don jazzy and taooma, or maybe kiekie. They were lamenting about the situation of things in the country, how it's not easy to run business and make ends meet. Now, if the like of Don can say that kind of thing, what should we say🥺..
As a Nigerian, trying to survive is hard on it's own, coupled with this new tax rule, omo. To me, it doesn't look like what will help the average citizen. We see the situation of things presently, everything is on the high side, even data. The new tax rule to me is like adding salt to an injury, we are tired already, why add more load on our head.
Every business owner is struggling to keep business going, talk about rent, the price of clearing goods, fuel and all. Some business have been run down, without tax o, now there's a new tax rule, what do you think will happen...
More business will definitely fold up and life will become much more harder. And business that don't shut down will triple the price of their goods just so to meet up, at the end of the day, we the citizens will still be at the receiving end of both. We are still the ones to suffer for it.
I'm tired as it is, the new tax rule won't help us, it will only add more loads to the ones we are already carrying. We are here trying to keep our heads up, a new tax rule is being brought up.... common🤦

Truth be told, I'm still trying to wrap my head around this new tax law, funny enough most Nigerians are okay with it, especially those who feel their company is already stealing from them through tax.
But as a small business owners, considering the cost of running my business, a deduction in the name of tax would really hurt me , it's not like I get benefits from the government or I'm entitled to one.

If they're taxed heavily, which is what's likely to happen, they'll increase the price of their products, buyers will have to pay more to get those products.

The question here is , after taking all these tax, will it be utilized to benefit the average Nigerian or the masses ?
I don't think the new Tax rules will be of a great benefit to a common Nigerian. It's another avenue that some set of people will use to siphon money.
The new Tax rule will only worsen the Economy. If this new Tax was to be imbibed completely, a lot of company will fold up, because so many co.pan or individuals would not want to remit 20% of their yearly income to a government rule for what gain. It hard to beleive that such a tax rule even exist, if the tax rule was to even exist why dont they just make it 10% or better 5%.
The country will really bleed because ri am sure this tax will not be used for the economy but to this leaders pocket.
I cant even Imagine working a full hard month and years and then 20% is deducted from my money, I will be really crazy at that moment.
Tax should shouldn't ed on people, it should be decided among company direct payment to worker, whereby it will be deducted like a contract stuff, for example if someone is to earn 300k monthly, the company can be paying 20k from their pocket and still pay the worker salary, there is a way they will do the contract with it, and within market place there can be a monthly supervision contribution. It should not be willing forced on people, if only people could Sue government for this kind of law existence.

20% is per annum oga not monthly. 20% of the salary will be divided into 12 months and deducted monthly

It’s so crazy how the government is using the citizens like pawns and puppets but still there’s so much unnecessary and life drenching barriers or regulations. I feel like the govt expects too much from the people and we are just a like a tool for monetisation during their tenure. It has been the same for a long time and we hope it ends….
now your president wants to take 25% from high earners, and between 23% to 15% from other people. For example of you earn less than 200,000 monthly youre not taxable but from 250> it ranges from 15 to 23. For example you earn ₦1,500,000/month → Your annual income is ₦18M. You’ll be taxed in multiple bands: some income at 15%, more at 18%, and maybe at 21%, depending on exactly how much is “chargeable income” after allowable deductions, crazyyyyy!!!!!
Niw many people will remain in dilemma of staying at their income level or just take the risk and sacrifice such amount on taxes when we are so sure that nothing will come out from it. It is just a jagaban strategy.

Today was handful for me and my team, as a matter of fact this week I've been so so busy I rarely had time for myself , from Monday to Saturday....
so today Saturday I and my team plus other team leaders from the zonal level of our corpers fellowship came around and we set out for our outreach just within my PPA.
we had scheduled today to be the big day for this, since the school runs both day and bothers we had planned on going for an outreach to their hostels, talking to them about alot of things and since it's an all girls school we had to let the female corpers go in their hostels to get them to assemble at a point were we were able to talk to them and also pray with them as well....
it was a wonderful time and it went very well....
after that i return returned home tried to get some sleep but the heat was on another level, the fan was blowing hot , so i had to get up go do my laundry, and that took me like another 2hours to finish...
this how i spent my saturday no owambe but activities filled day amd i am exhausted as i write this...
