Hive-Naija Weekend Engagement #85 - “THE GIANT OF AFRICA”

"You know, I don't think of myself as anything like a 'global citizen' or anything of the sort. I am just a Nigerian who's comfortable in other places. - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Well, lemme drop my honest opinion before all of una scatter ground😁...

"Naija no dey carry last," " we're the giant of Africa." I believe you will all permit me to say that phrase was once upon a time, it used to be our brag back then, not anymore. Anyone who says such slogan now is either chasing clout or just cruising, because it's not our reality. Because, how are we not last, or how are we giant of Africa with unstable electricity, bad roads, bad governance, unemployment, fuel scarcity, and there's the issue of gas as we discussed last week, not to talk of the huge school fees we now pay in our various institutions and many more... This days, we are only surviving.

What can I even say, all of us now dun turn motivational speaker as we dey try use those words take hold body, wbule keeping our hope alive.

I even saw a chart recently that showed how poverty stricken our country is, I think we were ranked in the first five, guess what, our leaders debunked it. The truth o.

But then again, we still find ways of surviving, we now turn our pain into cruise and laugh it off, we can see our musicians topping charts, some of our influencers doing well and making waves, and it kind of...gave us hope.

But then, maybe it's a gift from God, I dont know but we are the type who fall, rise again and even joke with it, we can survive in almost any condition. Truth be told though, "We really deserve much more than just surviving."

I pray God help us all...

Naija no dey carry last is now a statement of the past cause presently it's the complete opposite.

There's one thing I seemed to notice about us Ni-ge-ri-anssss though. We tend to adapt way too fast to every given condition we're thrown into. But I must say, that has been the oxygen keeping us alive in this country.

Despite all, our people are still ringing bells everywhere they go and if that is not a blessing, I don't know what it is.
You broke it all down bit by bit brooo. So proud of you...... You're following my footsteps now 😁.

Since when I was born and now I am getting old I have never see Nigeria change, instead they keep moving back. That word, Naija no deh carry last, does not exist again ooo, I no fit believe am, most times we just motivate ourself to keep ourself alive as the giant of Africa, yes we are the giant but checking online there are many African countries that have good city than ours honestly we are missing a lot out. Yes we are the giant in terms of wealth and riches but in terms of good constructions and organized City and people we really lack this understanding because our government has really taken advantage of us and all we want is just to survive till the next governance, this is !why I said Nigeria had been getting worse more and more since my childhood. Nigeria has been caryyigvlast for long and our last keeps on increasing day by day, honestly.

No week Owanbe oo, life of a single man, I am single like a pringle, no weddings, no shows, no hangout, just be and myself visiting lounge and relating with friends to keep my spirit alive in other to avoid deep thoughts.

"Naija no dey carry last", coming from behind , in terms of kwaruption, 😀naija na first. So, the phrase still exist. Otherwise, how do you rate a country that gave another country power but had never boasted of 24 hours uninterrupted power supply. While the country it gave power had celebrated 10 years of constant power supply.

GIANT OF AFRICA

yes Thats who we are, Thats our true identity and we are giants at every single thing! Be it good or bad, Nigerians are the way to go. Being Nigerian speaks nothing but resilience. Have you ever thought about the strength of just one Nigerian? Loook today at so many vibrant and highly intellectual Nigerians we have still in the country and abroad, it takes more than a good country economy and ethics to scale to such level and attain value or prominence in the world.
There’s something you guys don’t know maybe I’d write extensively about it when I have the time…. But yeah, our history was rewritten, is still being rewritten by the current dispensation government and will still continue to be interpolated with time if the new world order doesn’t come.
See! Nigerians, blacks and even the white we all live in a super dark world. Do you know why govt rewrite history?
To change the narrative of what the country truly is and to instill what kind of narrative they want for the country in the upcoming generations, like for example us govt removed a lot from history book and changed some stories over time to make their citizens believe that the soldiers are very strong and have been winning wars but in reality usa have never won any physical war!! Funny right?
Keep reading…. Decades ago in Vietnam there was a NAM saga when vietnamies farmers that were untrained supported their military of like 20% of usa army to defeat American soldiers that came to conquer them 🤣🤣🤣🤣
But history didnt write it or rewriten but real stories never die. Thats why soldiers use the word Nam the ones that survived that saga.
Now come to think of an ordinary country like Nigeria that belongs to the western world indirectly don’t you think our history will be 100000000x interpolated? Interpolation is when things are reshaped to fit context and moving a bit from the initial these happens im bible too Thats why over the years Christianity keep fighting and getting new doctrines because bible has been interpolated so many times due to translation and all and as a language student I affirmed that. Some languages don’t have any equivalent for some words in other languages so im that case a technique we call ADAPTATION is used and Thats already interpolation.

Now nigeria is the giant for so many reasons but they have rewritten the narrative. Let me shock you
The world map was altered Nigeria is wayyyyyyyy bigger than that tiny dot you see on the map. The whites are trying their best to make you small don’t agree!!!
My name is wealth Grammy
I am a Nigerian
And I am fucking Great! A GIANT. AN AFRICAN GIANTS. TOGETHER WE ARE PACKS OF GIANTS!

Many will miss this post cos it’s too long 🤣🤣🤣 but if you’re a giant say hi!

Now have you guys ever heard of the most expensive natural resources in the word ?
No you haven’t heard of Californium. Go and read if not. Look, a gram of that is worth about 1m$ and Thats like carrying a pinch of bread in weight!!!!
Stunning! It’s found in the north
We have some in maiduguri. Thats one reason boko haram saga started but we won’t know
Media and government quickly painted many rubbish for us to believe and talk about.
Years from now Nigerians will laugh at themselves and the truth because the new world order is coming
Truth cant be hidden for ever

For so many reasons we are giants but the world won’t letbthat happen thats why many things are happening to make nigerians feel less

We have so many big natural resources but I dont know wh we dont use then to our advantage, see this danger refinery stuff, this should ha e been Nigeria main target before anyone other thing now they have centralized it to dangote a one man business to feed their greed, one reason why arab is always stopping in terms of wealth, one reason why arab is know for their wealthy lifestyle is because they have th&s resources and they also refine them in their country they dont need to sell it out for other countries approval like Gold and oil.

Honestly, we need a true ruler not a th&ef and once again we will rule africa perfectly.

my Saturday was actually fun filled, I was at event and it was really impact full, and worth it with key notes speakers coming to share their experiences as they journey in life,

the event hard some very high reputable men and women in attendance, such meeting you attend and you know deep down that you're just privilege to be there and to hear certain things....

the event started by 10Am and lasted through till 4pm with various guess speakers and interactive sessions, interviews, games, and launcheon in between...

it was an enriching moment indeed, cause I learnt alot sitting down under the atmosphere and hear men tell the stories of thuer struggles and victories, I love attending events like this that sour me up for me more...

for the record our amazing Stan Nze was one of the key note speakers

@nanawrites @careergirl @jmis101 come tell us what you did today

How Spent my Saturday..
A close friend of mine invited to his grandfather's burial.
Being my first time attending a burial.
I had to pay good attention to every moment and trust me meennnnn.

One part of the burial hits me hard, when the preacher said everyone will die so we shouldn't be afraid. But the question is how will you die, what will you be remembered for.
Were you able to touch a soul or your life was just self centred.
He said so many things.
Mind you .. it was an old man burial so there was no plenty cry.. will I say it was a glorious home call.

I sat under the canopy imagining what's going on in the man's mind inside the casket, is he seeing everyone sitted here.
Is he happy with the fact that he has gone to meet with his maker.

Alots of thought ram through my mind..
The part that also caught me was when some friends amd family were called to say things about the man...

In summary of what they said, the man was a man of impact, a role model in the society. He brought light to the community a d even unto his death people still remember him for that.

He was surrounded with big girls and boys as he's children and grandchildren.

In conclusion, live a life of impact so when you're gone people will remember you for that. Because one day we will all go to meet with our maker
