Hello Chess players on Hive,

Yesterday was the first round of the weekly Saturday HiveChess Tournament. We had a total of 32 players who participated in the event, and for the first time, we had the presence of three (3) International Masters in a HiveChess Tournament. Must be a record!

We got some comments about the timing of the tournament, so we will be conducting a poll on when we should host the tournament. For others who will be having other activities, there will be a possibility of a change to the timing for the next round, according to the response we get from the poll.

Tournament Details

1. We play every Saturday at 19:00 GMT

2. We play on an open-source chess application, www.lichess.org

3. To start up on Lichess, kindly read Introduction to Lichess Platform

4. Register with your Lichess username in the comment section if your name is not on the mention list.

5. Total play time is 1 hour and 10 minutes. Time control for the tournament varies with each round.

6. Feel free to write about your tournament experience and post the link in the comment. Quality posts will get curated. Alternatively, you can post on our Discord channel.

7. Join our Team Page on Lichess, to play our team events.
