Hello Chess players on Hive,

Yesterday , we played the thirteenth round of the weekly Saturday HiveChess Tournament. We had a total of 18 players join this event. one of the worse numbers since we started.

Congratulations to @southgamer on a surprising and well-deserved victory in the event. I could hardly believe it myself, but the game of chess is always full of surprises. With a quick win over @iamchessguy and a solid, professional draw against Friday’s host @stayoutoftherz, he managed to outpace @maestroask, who finished in second place. Two-time winner @tangibleay had to settle for third this time.

Tournament Details

1. We play every Saturday at 15:00 GMT

2. We play on an open-source chess application, www.lichess.org

3. To start up on Lichess, kindly read @samostically's Introduction to Lichess Platform

4. Register with your Lichess username in the comment section if your name is not on the mention list.

5. Total play time is 1 hour and 10 minutes. Time control for the tournament varies with each round.

6. Feel free to write about your tournament experience and post the link in the comment. Quality posts will get curated. Alternatively, you can post on our Discord channel.
