Fite faraco stain - How colorful it is

Hello everyone, how are you all? I hope you all are doing well and i too. Today i would like to share about the fite faraco stain and how beautiful it is and what its use.

Stain name - Fite Faraco stain

Used for - Detection of Mycobacterium leprae bacilli which is acid fast bacilli

Mycobacterium leprae causes leprosy disease in patients which is also called hansens disease. Mainly in skin biopsy this stain is used and leprae bacilli identified.

But today post is i want to show how the stain looks like

The below you can see the that hair follicle structure. The center pink color is hair surrounding are the matrix cell layer and many other layer cell. These are highlighted with blue color. The sweat glands near to hair follicle is highlighted by blue color

This below image shows epidermis showing stratum corneum which is in pink color and remaining epidermis is highlighted with blue color.

So basically if leprae bacilli is present they are highlighted as pink beaded appearance. It will helps patients to go for specific treatment. We know how dangerous leprosy is.
