Photography of ancient building in Lahore

Hi guys, I have been posting the photos of Northern Pakistan, and I want to take a break from there and show you something ancient and more deeply interconnected in the culture of Pakistan. The photos are not recent; these are from archives, but I had to share something more cultural, and that is something connected to the deeper roots of the history of Pakistan.

Pakistan is dotted with so many shrines and ancient buildings which were built some hundred years ago, two hundred years ago, three hundred years ago, and the centuries are very precious. The architecture of these buildings is very astonishing, and I cannot help but wonder how these were formed. The architects, engineers, and workers were so talented, even in those times.

I have heard and read at different levels and in books that the workers and engineers were brought from different countries like Persia, the Arabian Peninsula, and even some parts of Europe as well. This shrine is in the internal side of Lahore, which resembles some parts of Delhi as well, so they call it old Delhi, and this part of Lahore is called internal Lahore in Urdu. It is called Androon Lahore, and we can call it old Lahore.

The buildings here look very similar, like the Shahi Kila, the Badshahi Masjid, and so on. I have tried to take these pictures; these are from archives, and back then, I was still learning about lighting and exposure. And this is where I realized that I need to up my game and take more sharp and eye-catching photos for the viewers to gain their attention.

I have since then been trying to work on that, work on my photography, because it is a skill I own, and it is very deeply engraved in my veins. And I look for photos everywhere.

Anyways, thanks for making it to the last. I'm sure you grasped something or enjoyed the pictures. I am looking forward to hearing from you all. This is me saim signing off. I'll see you again in the next blog. Till then, enjoy these pictures and the thoughts that I just shared. I use my Samsung Galaxy S22 to take pictures. I am learning and I'm sure you'll give me a chance to grow here.
