Saludos a toda la comunidad de Full Deportes, el día esperado llegó, la Serie Mundial de la temporada 2025 dentro de las Grandes Ligas abre sus cortinas este viernes. Los Azulejos de Toronto, campeones de la Liga Americana y los Dodgers de los Angeles, campeones de la Liga Nacional, se medirán cara a cara en una serie al mejor de 7 partidos.

Cómo llegaron ambos a la Serie Mundial

Los Dodgers tuvieron que jugar Wild Card, y derrotaron consecutivamente a Rojos, Phillies y Cerveceros, sin perder ni un solo partido, llegando con marca de 9-0 a la instancia final. Mientras que los Azulejos que fueron por mucho el mejor equipo en la fase regular dentro de la Liga Americana, dejó en el camino a los Yankees de New York y a los Marineros de Seattle.

El récord de los canadienses en esta postemporada es de 7-4, y su bateo está siendo lo mejor por mucho. Precisamente aquí se enfrentan dos de las mejores ofensivas, a pesar de que los Dodgers no han estado tan finos con el bate, pero ligeramente aventajan a los Azulejos en cuanto al pitcheo abridor. Por cierto, el pitcheo relevo de ambos equipos ha sufrido en toda la postemporada, solo nombres como Jeff Hoffman y Roki Sasaki se salvan en esta interminable lista.

Mi favorito

Esta vez no me atrevo, creo que ambas franquicias tienen condiciones de sobra para levantar el banderín, pero ambos tienen incentivos diferentes para hacerlos. Los Dodgers por mantener su hegemonía en los últimos 5 años en donde jugarán su tercer clásico de otoño, y con una plantilla de las más caras, si no es ahora mismo la mas cara de toda la MLB.

Por otro lado, los de Toronto quieren romper la sequía de 32 años sin el banderín de octubre, cuando ganaron consecutivamente en 1992 y 1993. La Serie Mundial terminará en 7 partidos, aunque todo depende de como pueda lucir el bateo de los Azulejos frente a ese pitcheo abridor de los Dodgers.

Regresos y ausencias

Creo que el regreso más esperado es el Bo Bichette por los azulejos. El destacado jugador de cuadro se perdió las Series ante Yankees y Marineros, y es un bate muy necesario para la franquicia. Pero cabe destacar, que su sustituto, el venezolano Andrés Giménez, estuvo muy bien al bate, sobre todo en esos dos partidos que ganaron en Seattle y forzaron regresar la serie al Rogers Centre.

Mientras una de las ausencias, y esta muy sensible para los Dodgers, es la del lanzador zurdo Alex Vessia, que no estará por problemas familiares, y este zurdo ha sido utilizado fundamentalmente como relevista intermedio cuando el partido se complica para Dave Roberts.

Las estrellas

En ambos equipos hay más de una estrella, pero yo me decanto por dos que han sido los pilares ofensivos de estos equipos y que no necesitan presentación. Me refiero a Vladimir Guerrero Jr y Shohei Ohtani. El dominicano le ha sacado el forro literalmente a la bola con 6 cuadrangulares, erigiendose además como el MVP de las Series Divisionales y de Campeonato.

Por otra parte el nipón, específicamente el de los 700 millones es la cara visible de estos Dodgers, bateando y lanzando. No ha estado muy bien al bate, pero esos 3 jonrones del cuarto juego frente a los Cerveceros, le permitieron mejorar considerablemente sus números ofensivos. Aunque actuando como lanzador, ha estado intratable como el resto de los abridores de los Dodgers.

Los peloteros infravalorados

Soy muy aficionado de esos peloteros que no son los más vistos, pero que son llamados esos héroes silenciosos y en ambas franquicias hay varios. De los azulejos yo me quedo con 2, uno de ellos es George Springer, que ya sabe lo que es ganar una Serie Mundial a los Dodgers, siendo MVP incluso cuando la ganó con los Astros en 2017, además fue el héroe de ese séptimo partido con el jonrón que sentenció definitivamente a los Marineros de Seattle.

El otro que puede aportar muchísimo es el mexicano Alejandro Kirk, que es bajito de tamaño pero con una fuerza al bate tremenda, de hecho fue uno de los bateadores que sacudió a placer el pitcheo de los Yankees. Por el lado de los Dodgers, mucho ojo con Kike Hernández, el boricua que es el utility perfecto, está hecho para los grandes momentos y lo ha demostrado a lo largo de su brillante carrera en las Mayores.

Mientras el otro que puede brillar y ya lo hizo en la última Serie Mundial es el dominicano Teoscar Hernández cuyo bate es uno de los más peligrosos y oportunos de la franquicia californiana.

Los posibles abridores

Ya anunciados oficialmente por Dodgers para los juegos 1 y 2, el zurdo Blake Snell y el japonés Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Además de estos, deben subir al montículo los también diestros Tyler Glasnow y Shohei Ohtani.

Mientras que los Azulejos, utilizarían a los experimentados Kevin Gaussman, Shane Bieber y Max Scherzer, además del novato Trey Yesavage. Serán duelos de lanzadores abridores espectaculares, debido a las grandes figuras que se subirán al montículo, de eso no me cabe ninguna duda.

Cuba en la Serie Mundial

Al menos tendremos un campeón de Serie Mundial. Los cubanos nos honrarán con su presencia en el Clásico de Otoño. Yariel Rodríguez por los azulejos y Andy Pagés por los Dodgers. Por cierto, ambos peloteros no han tenido la mejor postemporada hasta el momento, pero todo puede cambiar desde este viernes.

En el caso del camagüeyano, lució mucho mejor ante los Yankees, pero fue bateado libremente por Seattle, y esto genera dudas, sobre si ser utilizado o no en situaciones puntuales en la Serie Mundial, ya que en esta instancia, los errores cuestan bien caro.

Mientras Pagés, jugará su segunda Serie Mundial al hilo, esta ya como pelotero titular, no ha estado nada bien al bate, con dos imparables solamente, aunque tiene 3 anotadas y una empujada. A pesar de su bajón ofensivo, Dave Roberts lo mantiene en el lineup, ya que es un seguro a la defensa.
