Recover the emotional smile / LOH Contest 235 [ENG-ESP]

1️⃣ How do you recover from emotional pain or grief?

2️⃣ You received an invitation to three special occasions, but they all fall on the same day and at different locations — a wedding of your cousin, a huge family reunion, and your best friend's wedding anniversary. Where would you go and why?

We've all experienced that paralyzing emotional pain, whether it's the loss of a loved one or the collapse of our life plans. The truth is, I've always had my family to support me, but there are times when just watching a movie or playing with our pets can help bring a smile back to our faces. At least that was part of my experience while going through my separation and then divorce. There was a feeling of sadness because my life plan had ended.

I didn't know at the time that a little companion would come into my life and give me the strength to improve and continue.

I didn't know a pet would help me recover my smile and my health so much. By being forced to take him for walks, I increasingly reached further, and with those mental conversations along the way, I discovered there were beautiful things to keep fighting for. New interests began to form, and the smile returned to body and soul.

Going back to work, taking care of pets, having a garden, and writing were my best chances of smiling again. These therapies worked for me, and others work for everyone; you just have to try them until you find the one that works best for you.

I'll always prioritize family gatherings as unique opportunities. Then the older ones leave, and we won't have the chance to hug them again. I'll send the others a nice wedding gift, and also a friend's anniversary gift. Children grow up very quickly, and these family gatherings are very important.

1.- ¿Cómo te recuperas del dolor emocional o del duelo?

2.- Recibiste una invitación a tres ocasiones especiales, pero todas coinciden el mismo día y en lugares diferentes: la boda de tu primo, una gran reunión familiar y el aniversario de bodas de tu mejor amigo. ¿Adónde irías y por qué?

Todos hemos pasado por ese dolor emocional que nos paraliza, ya sea por la perdida de un ser querido o la caída de nuestros proyectos de vida. La verdad siempre he tenido mi familia para apoyarme pero hay momentos que solamente ver una película, jugar con las mascotas; nos puede ayudar a devolvernos la sonrisa. Por lo menos esa fue parte de mi experiencia mientras pasaba la separación en mi matrimonio y luego el divorcio hubo una sensación de tristeza porque mi proyecto de vida se había acabado.

No sabía en ese momento que un pequeño compañero llegaría a mi vida y me daría fuerzas para mejorar y seguir.

No sabía que una mascota me ayudaría tanto a recuperar mi sonrisa y mi salud. Al verme obligada a sacarlo a caminar cada vez fui llegando más lejos y con esas tertulias mentales del camino, descubriendo que había cosas hermosas porque seguir luchando. Se fueron formando nuevos intereses y la sonrisa volvió al cuerpo y el alma.

El volver al trabajo, el cuidar las mascotas, el tener un jardín y el escribir fueron mis mejores posibilidades de volver a sonreír otra vez. A mi me funcionaron estas terapias y cada persona le sirven otras, simplemente tienen que probar hasta conseguir la que le presta mejor.

Siempre pondré por delante los encuentros familiares son oportunidades únicas, luego los mayores se van y ya no tendremos oportunidad de abrazarlos otra vez. A los demás les mandare un buen regalo de bodas y también al amigo de aniversario. Los niños crecen muy rápido y es muy importante esos encuentros en la familia.
