I love my home || Amo mi hogar 📷 LOH #255 (Eng/Esp)📷

An interesting topic brought to us this week by our friend @irenenavarroart. She launched two questions that make us think about situations we've experienced or will experience in the future. I'm sharing the link to the post Ladies of Hive Community Contest #255, inviting friends to take a look at the topic.

When asked if you have the money to buy a house, would you prefer a house that needs remodeling or a ready-to-live-in house that has everything? It makes me think and look back to when I used to buy architecture magazines looking to build my ideal home. I was married to a civil engineer who could calculate and build any house; all that was needed was the land.

I had lots of dreams, sometimes big and other times smaller. But reality and financial limitations set in. We always have to adjust to our realities and as far as our money goes. I like to decorate and I like open spaces with plenty of room for my plants. Gardens are important to me.

My first apartment was on the fifth floor. My parents helped me buy the basics. There weren't any luxuries, but I had what I needed. Then the water service started to fail, and with two children and expecting a third, I had to fill containers with water so we could bathe.

When I had my third baby, I stayed at my parents' house for a few weeks to help out. I received a call from my neighbors that water was coming out of my apartment and running down the stairs. This happened twice. My husband had left the faucets running, and when the water came on, everything overflowed. What broke the camel's back, and I decided to move, was that the bathroom door was left open. I was at work, and the children were in the care of their father. He told me he had pulled the second child, his head bent, into the large container of water, trying to get out.

I currently live in my parents' house. They've since passed away, and my children are grown. I love my home because I have plenty of space to take care of my plants.

Without a doubt, if I had the money, I would buy a place ready to move in. Right now, I don't have the energy to remodel. Where I'm living now is a house that's over 40 years old and has required a number of repairs because things deteriorate over time.

Painting the spaces makes it a pleasant place to live.

Interesante tema que nos trajo esta semana la amiga @irenenavarroart lanzó dos preguntas que nos hacen pensar en situaciones vividas o por vivir en un futuro. Les comparto el enlace del post Ladies of Hive Community Contest #255, invitando a las amigas a darse una vuelta por el tema.

A la pregunta si tienes el dinero para comprar una casa ¿ que prefieres una casa que necesite remodelación o una lista que tenga todo y este lista para vivir? Me hace pensar y mirar hacia atrás, cuando compraba revistas de arquitectura buscando construir mi casa ideal. Estaba casada con un ingeniero civil que podía calcular y construir cualquier casa, solo hacia falta el terreno.

Tuve montones de sueños, a veces pensando en grande y otras veces en espacios más pequeños. Pero llego la realidad y las limitaciones económicas. Siempre tenemos que ajustarnos a nuestras realidades y hasta donde alcance el dinero. Me gusta decorar y me gustan los espacios abiertos con mucho espacio para mis plantas. Los jardines son importantes para mi.

Tuve un primer apartamento en un quinto piso, mis padres me ayudaron a comprar las cosas básicas, no había lujos pero tenía lo necesario. Luego empezó a fallar el servicio del agua y con dos niños y esperando el tercero. Tenía que llenar envases con agua para poder bañarnos.

Cuando tuve al tercer bebé estuve unas semanas en casa de mis padres para ayudarme. Recibí la llamada de mis vecinos que el agua salia de mi apartamento y corría por la escaleras, eso paso en dos ocasiones. Mi esposo había dejado las llaves abiertas y cuando vino el agua todo se desbordo. Lo que derramo la gota de agua y decidí mudarme fue que la puerta del cuarto de baño quedo abierta, yo estaba en el trabajo y los niños bajo el cuidado de su papá, me dijo que había sacado al segundo niño con la cabeza inclinada dentro del envase grande de agua tratando de salir.

En la actualidad vivo en las casa de mis padres ellos ya fallecieron y mis hijos crecieron, me encanta mi hogar porque tengo muchos espacios para cuidar de mis plantas.

Sin duda teniendo el dinero compraría un lugar listo para vivir, ahora no tengo las energías para estar remodelando. Si ahora donde estoy viviendo es una casa con más de cuarenta años y ha requerido una serie de reparaciones, porque las cosas se deterioran con el tiempo.

Pintar los espacios lo vuelven un lugar agradable para vivir.
