Me encantan los jueves de TBT, un espacio muy especial para ir a buscar esa fotografía y compartir un recuerdo. De mi viaje a España tuve muchos bonitos recuerdos y espacios visitados, mi hija quería llevarme a todos lados, quería enseñarme la ciudad en todo su esplendor.

Había lugares que ya conocía pero que valía la pena repetir. Ella me preguntaba ya fuiste a tal lugar, lo quieres volver a visitar. Me dijo que me iba a llevar a un lugar que yo no conocía y que podría tomar muchas fotos bonita. Y que iba a ver el mejor atardecer de toda Madrid. Y no se equivoco. Aunque el tema no era el atardecer, sino compartir este momento con mi hija contándome la historia del Templo de Debod.

I love TBT Thursdays, a very special time to go find that photograph and share a memory. I had so many beautiful memories and places I visited from my trip to Spain. My daughter wanted to take me everywhere, she wanted to show me the city in all its splendor.

There were places I already knew but that were worth repeating. She asked me, "Have you been to that place before?" She told me she was going to take me to a place I hadn't been to before and that I could take lots of beautiful photos. And that I was going to see the best sunset in all of Madrid. And she wasn't wrong. Although the theme wasn't the sunset, but rather sharing this moment with my daughter by telling me the story of the Temple of Debod.

Cuando España se entero que iban a inundar la zona para construir una represa, ofreció su ayuda para mover las construcciones que allí se encontraban. El templo fue un regalo de Egipto a España en el año de 1968.

El templo de Debod está situado al oeste de la plaza de España, a su lado un largo paseo que recorre la montaña, allí hay mucha historia; porque estaba el cuartel de la Montaña, una edificación militar que termino completamente destruida durante la guerra. Mi hija me comento que se mantuvo la misma orientación de su lugar de origen, de este a oeste mira su portal.

Desde esa montaña al final del paseo se podía ver el palacio real, también caminamos para esa construcción, la verdad es que fue un día que camine muchísimo.

When Spain learned that they were going to flood the area to build a dam, it offered its help to move the buildings there. The temple was a gift from Egypt to Spain in 1968.

The Temple of Debod is located west of the Plaza de España, next to a long path that runs through the mountain. It holds a lot of history, as it once housed the Montaña Barracks, a military building that was completely destroyed during the war. My daughter told me that the same orientation as its original location remained, looking from east to west at its entrance.

From that mountain at the end of the path, you could see the royal palace. We also walked to that structure; honestly, it was a day of walking a lot.

A lo largo del paseo y del parque cercano, que recorrí con mi hija había cantantes, pintores, niños jugando y mucha gente esperando el atardecer.

There were no visitors that day, but the second time I visited, there was a long line to get in. It's not a large building, barely a room, but each block tells a story.

Along the promenade and the nearby park, which I walked through with my daughter, there were singers, painters, children playing, and lots of people waiting for the sunset.

En la segunda visita era la época de frio, por eso la diferencia en la vestimenta y a mi izquierda se ve la cola para entrar a la construcción. Y aunque vez que no hay una barrera, simplemente podías saltar el pequeño muro ya que no estaba la fuente llena de agua, la gente respeta el orden.
