The Beginning of a New Story
We continue with The Hunger Games, this time with the second installment, which, in my opinion, is the best of the series so far. This is the film I remember most from the series. When I saw it, even though I didn't understand much, it was the one that caught my attention the most. Catching Fire is the direct sequel to the first installment of the saga. What awaits us in this adaptation is the continuation of the story of our beloved protagonists, Katniss and Peeta, only this time we realize the magnitude of what is to come in the next films.
El Inicio de una Nueva Historia
Continuamos con Los Juegos del Hambre, esta vez vamos con su segunda entrega y a mi parecer, hasta el momento, la mejor de la saga. Esta película es la que más recuerdo de la saga, cuando la vi, aunque no entendí mucho que digamos, fue la que más llamó mi atención. En Llamas es la continuación directa de la primera entrega de la saga, lo que nos espera en esta adaptación es la continuación de la historia de nuestros queridos protagonistas, Katniss y Peeta, solo que en esta ocasión nos damos cuenta de la magnitud de lo que se avecina en las próximas películas.

As a sequel, Catching Fire follows the events of the first film. Here we see how Katniss and Peeta must now return to the reality of their District and continue with the “fake” relationship they created in the first installment, but everything gets complicated when various circumstances force President Snow to hold the games again, only this time the participants will be the victors from each District. Catching Fire seems to me to be one of the sequels you might find in a film saga. Like the previous film, this sequel is divided into two parts, one where we are given a glimpse into the life that Katniss and Peeta must now lead, and another where the games begin.
In this installment, we get a broader look at everything that is the Capitol and how ruthless the villain of this saga, President Snow, can be, and how he manages to make everything work in his favor with the great power he has in his hands. We see a little more of some characters who appeared briefly in the previous film, as well as the introduction of new ones such as Finnick, Johanna, the other victors, and Plutarch Heavensbee, who will be part of the biggest plot twist in the saga so far.
Como secuela, En Llamas, sigue los acontecimientos de la primera película, aquí veremos cómo Katniss y Peeta ahora deben volver a la realidad de su Distrito y continuar con la “falsa” relación crearon en la primera entrega, pero todo se complica cuando diversas circunstancias obligan al presidente Snow hacer los juegos, pero solo que los participantes serán los vencedores de cada Distrito. En Llamas me parece una de las secuelas que te puedas encontrar en una saga de películas, al igual que la película anterior, esta secuela se divide en dos partes, una donde nos dan un paseo por la vida que ahora Katniss y Peeta deben llevar y otra donde dan paso a los juegos.
En esta entrega tenemos un vistazo más amplio a todo lo que es el Capitolio y lo despiadado que puede llegar a ser el villano de esta saga, el presidente Snow, y cómo logra que todo esté a su favor con el gran poder que tiene en sus manos. Tenemos un poco más de participación de algunos personajes que vimos poco tiempo en la anterior película y también la introducción a otros nuevos como Finnick, Johana, los demás vencedores y Plutarch Heavensbee quienes formarán parte del plot twist más grande hasta el momento de la saga.
SourceCatching Fire presents a little more of the world created by Suzanne Collins, giving us a closer look at District 12 and a glimpse of the other districts. We also see how Katniss, more than just a winner, became a symbol for all of Panem, a symbol that hints at the beginnings of a coming revolution with Katniss at the forefront. The film follows the formula of its predecessor, with the victors arriving at the Capitol to make themselves known, only this time they already know who they are. The training part works this time so that Peeta and Katniss can seek allies to survive a little longer in the games, as the other victors are more lethal and experienced than in previous games.
One of the things I love about this movie is that the entire games section was filmed in IMAX, and you have no idea how much more I enjoyed this part of the movie now that Katniss and Peeta have a little more experience in the games and aren't just running away and fighting only when necessary. One of the characters who stole the show, apart from the protagonists, was Finnick, played by Sam Claflin; undoubtedly one of the most outstanding new characters in this installment of the saga. I still can't get over it, but the fact that the games were filmed in IMAX adds a lot to the movie, apart from making the confrontations in the arena more spectacular.
En Llamas, presenta un poco más el mundo que creó Suzanne Collins, nos dan un mayor vistazo al Distrito 12 y un pase por los demás Distritos, también podemos ver cómo Katniss más que una vencedora, se convirtió en un símbolo para todo Panem, un símbolo que nos deja ver los inicios de una próxima revolución con Katniss al frente. La película sigue la fórmula de su antecesora, con los vencedores llegando al Capitolio para darse a conocer, solo que esta vez ya saben quiénes son, la parte de los entrenamientos funciona esta vez para que Peeta y Katniss puedan buscar aliados para sobrevivir un poco más en los juegos ya que los demás vencedores son personas más letales y con experiencia a diferencia de los anteriores juegos.
Una de las cosas que me encantan de esta película es que toda la parte de los juegos fue filmada con en IMAX, y no saben cómo me disfrute mucho más todo este acto de la película, ahora que Katniss y Peeta tiene un poco más de experiencia en los juegos y no andan simplemente huyendo y luchando solo cuando es necesario. Unos de los personajes que se robó la pantalla, aparte de los protagonistas, fue Finnick, interpretado por Sam Claflin; sin duda unos de los personajes nuevos más destacados en esta entrega de la saga. Todavía no lo puedo superar, pero el hecho de que los juegos estuvieran grabados en IMAX le suma muchos puntos a la película, aparte de que da un toque más vistoso a los enfrentamientos en la arena.
SourceThe film is a good length, although this time it does feel a little slow at the beginning; let's say it picks up a little more “momentum” after the first act. The reason I think this sequel is better than the first one is because it takes everything the first installment did well and does it twice as well, giving a little more depth to the characters and the world of Panem, allowing us to see beyond the impact Katniss had in the previous games and how she paves the way for an upcoming revolution. As I said in the previous installment, it takes its time and knows when to go fast and when to slow down.
So far, I declare it the best film in the saga. I hope Mockingjay Part 1 leaves me wanting to see a little more of this world. I thought the plot twist at the end was the best part of the whole film, with Katniss wounded by the lightning bolt, the dome destroyed by the impact of the arrow, and the ship taking Katniss away, only for us to realize seconds later that it was all part of a bigger plan to save her and usher in the revolution that the districts have been waiting for so long. Unfortunately, they fail to rescue Peeta, and he remains imprisoned in the Capitol alongside Johanna. We'll see what happens to them in the next film in the series.
La película tiene una buena duración, aunque esta vez sí se sienta un poco lenta al principio digamos que toma un poco más de “impulso” después del primer acto. La razón por la esta secuela me parece mejor que la primera es porque toma todo lo que la primera entrega hizo bien y lo hace el doble de bien, le otorga un poco más de profundidad a los personajes y al mundo de Panem, deja ver más allá del impacto que tuvo Katniss en los juegos anteriores y cómo da paso a una próxima revolución. Como dije en la anterior entrega, se toma su tiempo y sabe cuándo ir rápido y cuándo ir de espacio.
Hasta el momento la declaro como la película de la saga, espero que Sinsajo Parte 1 me deje con ganas de querer ver un poco sobre este mundo. El plot twist del final me pareció lo más grande de toda la película, con Katniss herida por el rayo, el domo destruyéndose por el impacto de la flecha y la nave llevándose a Katniss solo para segundos después darnos cuenta que todo era parte de un plan mayor para salvar a ella y dar paso a la revolución que tanto tiempo han estado esperando los distritos, lamentablemente no logran rescatar a Peeta y queda preso en el Capitolio junto a Johana, ya veremos que pasará con ellos en la próxima película de la saga.
SourceIf you liked the first one, Catching Fire is even better than its prequel. It takes everything the first one did and makes it better. I won't deny that it has its flaws, since watching it twice if you like it so much, as in my case, can be a bit tedious in the end. Catching Fire sets the bar high for the next film. After that plot twist, I can't wait to see what happens when I get to watch Mockingjay Part 1. Remember, my opinion is based on the films and not the books, as I haven't read them.

Si les gustó la primera, En Llamas en aun mejor que su precuela, toma todo lo hizo la primera y lo hace el mejor, tampoco voy a negar que tiene sus detalles ya que verla dos veces si te gusta tanto, como es mi caso, puede ser un poco pesado al final. En Llamas deja el listón en alto para su próxima película, después de ese plot twist ver qué acontecerá será algo que esté esperando con muchas ansias para cuando pueda ver Sinsajo Parte 1. Recuerden mi opinión es en base a la películas y no a los libros ya que no los he leído.
