To be honest - I want to puke from this topic, it seems to me that people have become stupid to the level of chimps. This mass hysteria speaks of a problem in society and of people's mental problems. A normal person cannot want to buy a piece of shit for money and be happy that he bought shit and it is incredibly boring and therefore rare and expensive. The world has completely fucked up and this has been happening periodically for the last 30 years or more!

I think people have always wanted to buy things just for the sake of buying them, or simply because others have them. But nowadays, since more and more people aren’t struggling to have the basic necessities like they were 30–40–50 years ago, and because the younger generation has never really had to struggle to achieve something, this is what happens.
When I was 10 years old, if I wanted something, I had to go out and work to make the money to buy it. These days, if a 10-year-old wants a Labubu, the parents will buy it for them immediately.
