Hola las bellas mujeres de la comunidad de @ladiesofhive, un placer para mí estar otra semana Participando en este nuevo #Constest. Me disculpo de antemano si mi participación no llena expectativas, ya que vivo en Venezuela y las estaciones de años suelen ser muy diferente, pero me encanta participar en la comunidad.

Hello the beautiful women of the @ladiesofhive community, a pleasure for me to be another week participating in this new #Constest. I apologize in advance if my participation does not meet expectations, since I live in Venezuela and the seasons are usually very different, but I love to participate in the community.

1️⃣ El Día de los Caídos en los EE. UU. recuerda a los hombres y mujeres del servicio militar que dieron sus vidas al servicio del país. También es el fin de semana que normalmente se considera el inicio del verano. ¿Cómo lo celebras o tu país también tiene una celebración especial en esta época del año? Si es así, ¿cómo lo celebras?

Cómo dije anteriormente, vivo en Venezuela y aquí no se dan las cuatro estaciones del año, sino que ocurre una época de lluvia y otra de sequía. Hace algunos años recuerdo que eran seis meses de lluvia que empezaban desde mayo y terminaban en septiembre y la época de sequía eran los otros seis meses restantes.

Actualmente por el cambio climático todo ha cambiado y parece que vivimos que una sequía termina, dónde el calor es insoportable 🤣, pero allí la llevamos. Si llueve es un milagro.

1️⃣ Memorial Day in the U.S. remembers the military servicemen and women who gave their lives in service to the country. It is also the weekend that is usually considered the start of summer. How do you celebrate it or does your country also have a special celebration this time of year? If so, how do you celebrate it?

As I said before, I live in Venezuela and here we do not have the four seasons of the year, but there is a rainy season and a dry season. Some years ago I remember that there were six months of rain that started in May and ended in September and the dry season was the other six months.

Nowadays because of climate change everything has changed and it seems that we live that a drought ends, where the heat is unbearable 🤣, but there we take it. If it rains it is a miracle.

En mi país la época de lluvia sí hay una celebración especial, que es la celebración de cruz de mayo. Está se realiza el 3 de mayo y se hace con el fin de dar gracias a la cruz por las lluvias, las flores y los frutos que vendrán con ella.

Para dicha celebración se hace una escalera con siete o nueve escalones, según como lo prefieran el grupo que lo va a celebrar y estos escalones tienen un significado. Si son siete representa los siete días de la semana y si son nueve representa el novenario que se le reza a cristo.

La cruz es adornada con muchas flores y se colocan ofrendas de frutas. Esta cruz es llevada por pareja de danzas al ritmo de las fulias y décimas (canciones folklóricas) que van poniendo la cruz en cada escalón, al terminar le digan rezos, poesías y cantos dando gracias por las cosechas buenas que vendrán y la lluvia que enriquecerá la tierra para que sus frutos.

In my country during the rainy season there is a special celebration, which is the celebration of the cross of May. It is held on May 3 and is done in order to give thanks to the cross for the rains, flowers and fruits that will come with it.

For this celebration a staircase is made with seven or nine steps, depending on the group that is going to celebrate it and these steps have a meaning. If there are seven, it represents the seven days of the week and if there are nine, it represents the novena that is prayed to Christ.

The cross is adorned with many flowers and fruit offerings are placed. This cross is carried by a couple of dancers to the rhythm of the fulias and tenths (folk songs) that are putting the cross on each step, at the end they say prayers, poems and songs giving thanks for the good harvests to come and the rain that will enrich the land for its fruits.

Mientras esos sucede se degusta de comida y dulces típicos de la región, generalmente son dulces con coco y maíz; Bebidas a base de mango y comida hecha con pescado. También se voltea la cruz para que las personas puedan bailar joropo y al finalizar la vuelven a poner de frente y la bajan por los escalones.

Cabe resaltar que cada pareja va colocando la cruz en cada escalón y va cantando, lo mismo cuando van a bajar. Lo hace pareja por pareja.

Esta celebración es muy bonita y es como oficialmente se le da la bienvenida a época de lluvia o se podría llamar primavera (para que los de otros países se puedan ubicar).

While this is happening, food and sweets typical of the region are tasted, generally sweets made with coconut and corn; mango-based drinks and food made with fish. The cross is also turned upside down so that people can dance joropo and at the end they put it back in front of them and lower it down the steps.

It should be noted that each couple places the cross on each step and sings, the same when they go down. This is done couple by couple.

This celebration is very beautiful and it is the official way to welcome the rainy season or it could be called spring (so that people from other countries can locate themselves).

2️⃣ Con el verano acercándose rápidamente (el invierno, si está debajo del ecuador), ¿qué planes de vacaciones especiales tienes en los próximos meses? ¿Adónde vas y qué actividades están previstas? Por favor incluya fotos de su destino.

Esta respuesta será corta, porque ya explique arriba como se da la estaciones por aquí en Venezuela.

Las vacaciones aquí oficialmente para mí arranca después del 2 agosto, que es cuando se termina el acto de promoción de mi hijo de 6.º grado.

Tengo pensando irme a mi pueblo que queda a 4 h de dónde vivo actualmente a visitar a mi mamá, disfrutar de la comida, ir al río y relajarme. Por supuesto que publicaré muchas fotos contando mi experiencia aquí en hive.

2️⃣ With summer fast approaching (winter, if below the equator), what special vacation plans do you have in the coming months? Where are you going and what activities are planned? Please include photos of your destination.

This answer will be short, because I already explained above how the seasons are here in Venezuela.

Vacation here officially starts for me after August 2, which is when my son's 6th grade graduation ceremony ends.

I am planning to go to my hometown which is 4 hours away from where I currently live to visit my mom, enjoy the food, go to the river and relax. Of course I will post lots of pictures of my experience here on hive.
