Choosing my answer to this prompt is very easy because I have consumed both drinks, so it's easy for me to compare.

There are different kinds of alcoholic drinks each with its own percentage level or alcohol concentration in drinks. Some people take alcohol because of the feeling it gives them, other people take alcohol to make themselves feel "manly" or "womanly" as the case may be.

Coffee lovers also know what they stand to benefit from daily consumption but I think It's very funny that some might choose to prefer alcohol to coffee (I won't blame them because not everyone likes coffee)because while alcohol increases one's chances of having health issues like liver diseases and many more, coffee does it's opposite with one of its benefits includes protection against liver diseases and many more.

It is said that "too much of everything is bad", but some too much has more adverse effects than others. Taking too much alcoholic drink while at the moment of consumption gives a warm and fuzzy feeling, the aftermath is not so pleasant, with the vomiting and the banging headache and overall tiredness. Most consumers of alcohol can attest to the fact that after a night of drowning in alcohol, coffee is seen as a solution to bring relief from their hangover.

I used to take drinks with lower concentrations of alcohol and while I used to pride myself on being someone who can hold her liquor, I found out sooner than later that alcohol does more harm than good to the body generally which made me give up taking any form of alcoholic drink.

As a teacher, I always take a cup of coffee before starting my day, either at home or taking it to go and consuming it at work. Now I can't even imagine taking alcohol before going to work because aside from it making me feel dizzy, my students will "smell" it on me immediately after I open my mouth to talk to them and don't even speak well of such individuals especially those whose job involves children but then that wasn't my only reason for not consuming alcohol any longer.

While coffee can be taken anytime or any day. For a worker who doesn't get to work from home, there is a limit to the way they will consume alcohol if they want to be taken as a "responsible person". So there is no doubt in my mind that I would give up alcohol totally and choose coffee.

Thank you all for reading.

I think, people who would choose alcohol over coffee, have what they stand to gain, most people say alcohol helps them think but i tend to wonder how.

Well i tag along with you, coffee is the go!

I really liked what you expressed in the post, everything in excess is bad. As human beings we always have the tendency to take everything to the extreme and that is not good. Finding balance in our lives should be a life goal.

Thanks for sharing.☕
Happy Monday.

I agree. We should be able to strike balance in everything we do.

Thank you for coming around.

It is very true, as a teacher, we cannot get to our classrooms, with that smell of alcohol, it would be unpleasant and a bad example for our students.

We'd better stick with the coffee, let's toast with a delicious cup of coffee.

Hi, @rukki. I really like your assessment: alcohol is a potentially impairing beverage, while coffee is not.
It is true that alcohol can be pleasant, and in very low doses, a stimulant similar to coffee, the truth is that it tends to hinder thinking.
