Well, it brings memories of fun, excitement of attending a party especially an elite occasion.

Story

Most times, the way you dress speaks a lot about you. When you dress well, It could help you blend into places you never thought you could get into.

There I was at home on a weekend, bored with nothing to do that very day.

I decided to chat up my friend Ifeoma, Iffy as I fondly call her. She quickly responded and talked about how bored she was at her hostel.

Her hostel is not really around places where other students usually have their hostels which made it sometimes boring for her as she doesn't have friends around. We are not only friends but also coursemates. We chatted a while about the assignments given to us by some of our departmental lecturers and how far we've gone on them.

Afterwards, I asked her what the 411 was and she told me about a wedding happening that day around her area. According to her, it was going to be a high end wedding and she told me she wished she could attend so as to have some fun but she knew neither the bride nor groom.

"Why don't you gate-crash?", I said immediately as the thought came to me.

"I don't think I could pull it off, what if they find out and embarrass me by sending me out?", she said almost dismissing the idea.

"I really wish to go because I've not been to Yoruba weddings before", she said and I could tell she really wanted to attend.

"It's a Yoruba wedding?" I asked my face lighting up.

”Yes”….she . "Say no more, we're going together", I told her and she quickly agreed.

Now I know in order to pull it off, we needed to dress like we belonged. I checked my wardrobe and pulled out the only elegant dress I owned. No one was at home anyways, so I went into my mum's jewelry box and took out her gold necklace, earrings and other accessories, all the while smiling mischievously at the thought of what I was about to do. I took my pair of black high heels to match.

I packed them all into my bag pack and wore plain clothes from home. I wanted no suspicion.

I got to her hostel and in no time we began preparing. My friend helped do my makeup and I also did hers.

I wore a wig which added more to my elegant look. After we finished dressing up, I looked at my reflection in the standing mirror and damn!, I knew I could pull off the stunt easily.

We got into the venue and eyes immediately fell on us. An usher led me to a seat and I could tell that the seat was reserved for high class people.

I stood up, sashaying my almost six-feet self around like a prominent figure. I mean since I was ushered into a seat reserved for high class people. they probably thought I must be one. Iffy was just playing along with my act.

The ushers began serving and the amount of meat added to the food placed in front of me was enough for a student to add to a pot of soup that would last for days.

I knew I had to act fast before people started asking who I was and then my cover would be blown. My opportunity came when the M.C asked the couple to play a little game which got everyone's attention.

As soon as I noticed that people were distracted. I quickly took away all the meat from my food and wrapped it in a nylon bag provided by Iffy who was behind me and passed it to her. We knew we can't stay long and we need to be able to devour that meat well. We quickly finished our food, topping it up with the drinks placed on our table.

We stayed for some time before leaving. When we got back to her hostel, we immediately devoured with meats after flinging our wigs to one side.

Well, sometimes all you have to do is to dress the part. No one knew we gate-crashed the party. Only that there was no gate at the party, so don't blame us😁.
