Irks and Displeasures

I have always been a team player and I like people who are team players. People who are ready to put in the work to ensure that any tasks given are completed on time.

It pisses me off when people choose not to put effort in tasks that are meant to be done by a group. It's true that everyone can't be the same when it comes to work, but please people should endeavour to try to put effort into tasks.

It's worse when without their own part of the task means the task can't be submitted as a whole and which makes it more annoying. Now the rest who had done their own part of the task would be lumped together with the “unserious person”.

I believe we should always take our jobs seriously, especially one that puts food on our table. Sometimes people are not easy to work with especially when there are no rules in place for people that default. But then, when it comes to getting the reward for the task, you would see that person who did little to nothing at the front line, waiting to get their cut. Why not take their own share? Well, not all rewards come in monetary form. Let's assume everyone in the group is to get a T-shirt each after submission, now how do we share it? Would I take the sleeves while another takes the remaining parts?

Not everyone is inconsiderate, some people might be going through one thing or the other and that might hinder or affect that productivity, but I believe what a sane person in that kind of crisis should do is to communicate with other members of the group and they would help you cover up or share your tasks to their own but it's so annoying when there is lack of communication.

It pisses me off more when the said unserious person tries to manipulate or guilt trip others in a group when it's time to get rewarded ( if there is any) and the unserious person(s) gets lesser rewards. Talking about “you are being selfish, you are supposed to be considerate. Really? We are the selfish and inconsiderate ones here? Where were you when we were working our asses off trying to get the tasks done and you were doing God Knows what?

What's worse? It's worse when working with some friends. I mean the fact that we are friends doesn't mean you should dump everything on me, instead,I should enjoy working with you since we are already acquainted. Working with friends is supposed to be so much more fun and when you complain about them not putting in their own quota, they tag you “cranky”.

Any friend that is not there to impact positively into my life, only to use and give me more problems should stay far away. This doesn't mean I can't help out my friends if they need help but I have to see that you are also the type that is committed to their work, but a friend that is out to always take advantage of me. No, please stay far away from me.

Overall, If I am to choose, I love working alone but if it's a task that requires us to work in groups then I would be so glad to work with serious minded individuals.
