Beyond The Good And Bad : Our Choices And Actions

Karma is the general belief that our good actions get rewarded while bad actions are faced with their consequences. I used to believe in karma, I used to believe that people always reap what they sow, so either good or bad, people will one day face the consequences of their actions.

As time went by, I realized it's not always true. In fact, it sometimes seems like it's the other way round, with good actions being scorned while bad actions get praised. Sometimes, people who do bad things get away with it. Talk about all the different vices we see in our society everyday. Immorality, Dishonesty, Stealing and many more.

Growing up, we were taught that our actions and choices would have a huge shape in our lives and can have a huge effect on us. But it is quite saddening to see people who do good deeds being repaid with bad, that most of them find it difficult to help others.

Talk about people going into fraud. While some of them spend the money lavishly and end up worse off than they were, some do invest the money as capital for projects or businesses that would yield profits. That way they can stop their fraudulent activities and fully focus on their business, talking about all they needed was “capital” for their business. It's good that they stopped but it doesn't erase the fact that they duped or scammed others to get that money.

Talk about some women who are responsible for a family breaking up. I have seen some cases where mistresses became housewives and they end up staying married and enjoying such marriages while the first wife keeps waiting for karma that might never come.

Everyday, we keep seeing teenagers very eager to join in these bad vices. Students are no longer willing to learn as the “school na scam” narrative is being propagated, believing hard work doesn't pay anymore. It takes the fear of God for people who are hardworking despite not getting enough to remain steadfast.

Talk about a high rate of unemployment sweeping through the country, with qualified people not getting good jobs and they end up working menial jobs to survive while getting talked down and splashed on by children who get their money from one illegal act or the other.

Though I have seen cases of some bad actions getting punished and those people meeting their waterloo, but wouldn't it be wonderful if All bad deeds get punished? Because that way people would have to think twice before getting into any. But then, I guess life isn't always fair.

Now while I no longer believe strongly in karma, I still believe that the fact that some people get away with bad deeds doesn't mean it works for everyone. So if as an individual, you decide to follow other people's footsteps because it “worked” for them, you might end up getting disappointed and your first might be your last.

My subtle change in this belief is probably because of the society I am being exposed to. Perhaps, in a country that works, where the rule of law is being applied and corruption is not being deeply rooted, then maybe, just maybe karma might actually work.

Karma is a bitch,so I have heard. It is no wonder why all bad deeds are not served the same dish of punishment.

I have also encountered cases where people who commit bad acts go Scot free and it pisses me off but what can I do. Ivan only shake my head for them ni 😂

Anyways your last paragraph suns it up.

Haha really, maybe karma works in other country because it doesn't seem to be case here. You've highlighted only a few and they are very true.

I have never believed in karma, whatever it does does not sound real to me because it doesn't actually happen. It does not pay back the exact measure

Karma doesn’t exist. I never believed in it. Karma and luck are like the greatest scams to ever sell this planet. But that’s just what I think.

Biggest scams ever, that's why we need to unlearn and relearn some things.

I appreciate your coming around.
