A Clean Environment Matters A Lot.
I believe there are levels of dirt, just as there are levels of cleanliness. My most clean environment can be semi-clean to another person. Everyone isn't the same when it comes to the area of cleaning. For me, I categorize cleaning my environment into two, Primary and Secondary.
My primary cleaning involves sweeping, mopping the floors, washing plates etc which is something I do almost everyday. Leaving dishes unwashed is a no-no for me because it's so unhealthy, it not only makes it harder to wash later on, it also attracts cockroaches and sometimes rats into your kitchen.
Have I mentioned the smell? That's the worst of all. I don't do well with bad smell. It makes me instantly uncomfortable. One thing I have learned especially when cooking is to do the cooking and wash used dishes simultaneously, that way any plates, cups and cutleries used afterwards would not be as much as would be easier to clean in minutes.
Sweeping is also something I do almost everyday especially inside the house, this is because I was not really used to wearing any kind of footwear inside the house unless during rainy season when I sometimes put on socks to keep my feet warm, so I go round the rooms barefoot, that way I will be able to know if I need to sweep a particular place again as I will feel the sand under my feet.
My secondary cleaning includes washing of toilets, bed sheets, cleaning the window, fan etc. That I do once a week as I don't have the time to do them everyday. Some people go as far as doing this kind of cleaning three to four times in a week, that's their preference.
I don't have any time allotted for washing clothes. I can wash today, tomorrow and the next day if I am feeling up to it. Sometimes I wash once a week. In some cases, when I look at the heap of unwashed laundry staring back at me, I would just burst into laughter.
I love it when everything is organized and things neatly are neatly arranged but that doesn't mean everywhere is always arranged. Sometimes when I notice something needs rearranging,I don't always do it immediately. This usually happens when I am tired, especially when I get back late for work. As long as whatever has been disorganized doesn't hinder my movement around the house, I can leave it till I am up to arranging them well.
Decluttering also helps me a lot. That way I don't have to keep arranging a lot of things over and over again.
One thing I have come to notice about myself is that there is this inner joy and satisfaction that I feel when everywhere in my home is looking neat and smelling nice.
Overall, I can manage a little bit of dirt but not for long. A clean environment matters a lot not only for the sake of our health but also for our mental well being.

Yeah, cleanliness is next to godliness. A clean environment has a very good therapeutic effect on the body and mind. You just find yourself feeling at ease because of it 😁
That's right.
