Since childhood, we always hear the saying "Hard work is the key to success." It’s a phrase many of us grew up believing. I even used to tell myself that once I dey work hard, everything else will fall in place. But life don teach me otherwise.

Truth is, hard work is important. You can’t expect anything great without putting in effort. Whether it’s learning a skill, starting a business or even chasing dreams, work must dey involved. If you just sit down and fold your hands, nothing is gonna happen. Success no dey find person for house o.

But the real question is this - is hard work enough?

I have seen people working day and night, putting in everything, yet nothing to show. On the other hand, some people will just put small effort and everything will align for them. That’s when I realize that hard work is just one piece of the puzzle.

So what else do we need?

One big factor is wisdom. You may be working hard but in the wrong direction. That’s wasted energy. Sometimes, it’s not about how hard you’re working but where you’re putting your energy.

There is a saying that,
If person dey dig sand where there’s no gold, na sweat e go just waste.

Another thing is opportunity. Some people are simply not exposed to the right chance. Life no balance, and not everybody start from the same level. For some, connections help open doors. For others, environment has limited their moves. That’s why being in the right place at the right time matters.

We also need strategy and timing. Working hard without a plan can be tiring. You need to know when to move, when to pause, and when to change your method. Some things are not by force. Strategy helps to make the work easier and faster.

And yes, grace plays a role. I strongly believe that some things that happens in most peoples life is not by their strength alone. Sometimes, things just work out in ways you can’t explain. That exceptional favour that just make things move smoothly.

So for me, hard work no be everything. It’s necessary, but it’s not enough. You need sense, opportunity, good timing and a bit of favour.

Without deceiving ourselves. Hard work alone doesn't brings success, hard work plus wisdom equals success, and working with the right people, patience and grace those are the tools powerful enough to bring about success.

At the end, success doesn't have any straight roads, its a curve here detour there. But with all these combined, your chances of becoming successful will increase significantly.
