Small Happiness in Daily Life: Daily Errand, Trying "Igado," and Mama's Tortang Talbos ng Kamote (sweet potato leaves)

After trying a new flavor of ice cream yesterday, I am craving for it again though I want to get a different one. And the reason? It's too hot! I need something cold, something I can suck ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ. But, I suffered from post nasal drip last night because of the ice cream, so I had to stop myself from buying it today. Sad! Huhu ┐⁠(⁠ ̄⁠ヘ⁠ ̄⁠)⁠┌.

It's hot and we're out here walking on our way to the Market (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠). Mama also went to a repair shop, the cord of her heater has a problem that she needs it to be repaired. Luckily, it only need a new plug and Mama bought. While waiting for it to be repaired, we then go to the wet market to check the fishes available in there. (⁠人⁠ ⁠•͈⁠ᴗ⁠•͈⁠)

We still have leftover Tinola from yesterday so we still have viand for today's lunch. But I am craving for different dish today so I went to the market with Mama. I just bought a cooked dish in a restaurant. I am craving for pork dish so that's what I bought. It's called Igado, sadly I forgot to take a photo of it, lol.

This is actually my first time trying this dish. It's very similar to the one Mommy D always made during special occasions, she call it Batchoy naman. It's a little sour, sweet and it has liver. It has ginger too and she also mix potato in it. I am not sure what's the real name of that dish though, Mommy D call it Batchoy. As for the Igado, it has radish and carrots. It taste okay, I thought it will be sour but I didn't taste sourness in it.

As for Mama, she decided to buy a cooked dish today as well. She couldn't find an affordable fish in the wet market for her pets. Today's fish price is like a gold, so pricey. After stopping by at a carinderia, we then headed to the market. I saw Mama buying wheat flour. When I asked her why, she told me she's planning to make Sweet Potato Leaves Chips.

But then, when I checked on her downstairs an hour after arriving home and asked where's the sweet potato leaves chips, she just answered that she's too lazy to prepare it na, haha. Well, I understand as it can be a long process and she also said, it will need lots of cooking oil so she decided to change plan and make this instead.

It is a Tortang Talbos ng Kamote, it is crispy and oily but we love it. She didn't put egg on it I think, she said it's not crispy if she mix egg on it. And she'a right, I love the crispiness of this tortang Talbos ng Kamote. As for the dip for this, a vinegar taste even better with it ♪⁠┌⁠|⁠∵⁠|⁠┘⁠♪. And I paired it with rice of course, ehe. Rice is life!

By the way, here's a pretty yellow flowers I snap on our way. Pretty no? I'm sad coz there's just like 3 to 4 flowers left in there now. I saw it yesterday bearing lots of flowers in different colors, yellow, white and red but now they're gone. Maybe they all fall on the ground after the rain. Sad, really really sad.

Resisting ice cream is tough! 😂 But it sounds like you had a sweet day with Mama, trying Igado and enjoying that crispy Tortang Talbos ng Kamote. So relatable to have rice with everything! 💖

I think I can agree with the choice of not putting an egg to your dish since the egg makes it more softer and somehow eliminates the original taste of the main ingredient. Ma try ko nga gawin yan sa paborito kung Tortang Talong. Mostly today, the heat index is rising always drink lots of water hope you have a nice day! 😇

I really want to try Tortang Talbos right now, hahaha. It looks great in your photos, and I've never tried it before. Hey, how cool it must be to try a different ice cream flavor every day! I'm boring—I always choose the same flavor because I already know it, I just vary the places I go to. But maybe I'll start doing this and give more flavors a try. You should try it, but you can also make it using kangkong or spinach, I think it would taste even better. Haha, actually, it's Mom who decided to try different flavor, she's so cool on that haha. But you should too if you want. I'm sure it'll make big difference in your life 💃✨
