One Day, One Dollar: Got a Pack of Burger Buns for the Fam and Snacks and Dessert for Myself -for One Dollar, YES!

I really like today's topic in Asean Hive Community, this one challenge made me realize how big 1 dollar actually is despite the inflation. Well, maybe it depends on the place, I'm living in a small town where the price of everything, from necessities, foods, etc can be felt and we really can't help but complain. I often complain how a 500 ($8.79) pesos (today's rate: $1 = ₱56.86) can only buy a few things for one family. We felt like 500 pesos now is just 100 pesos because really everything's just expensive. But today, I appreciate my 50 pesos because imagine, I get to buy some snack, a dessert and a bread for me and the oldies. I only realize this now, seriously, 50 pesos is a big deal!

So here's the equivalent of $1 in the Philippines, the current rate is ₱56.86, let's round off that and make it ₱57. I have here a 50 pesos paper bills and 7 pesos coins.

So first thing I bought was a morning snacks. It was after I visit the market with Mama yesterday, haha. I got here this Cream Cake, one cost ₱11, I also get one peanut which cost ₱5. Now I have two snacks that I can enjoy. That's ₱16 pesos for the two, let's minus that and I am left with ₱41.

Before we proceed with my next buy, let me savors this two first. I'm sad because the cream cake I got today has no vanilla cream on this side where I first bite. On my first experience with this, the cream was spread evenly. Sad. As for the peanuts, it's the best, it's a bit spicy which I really love. Ehe

My next buy is this Nips which cost me ₱6. I had it after lunch and serve it as a dessert. I eat this from time to time since Mommy D started selling them in her store. Ehe. And after this, I am left with ₱35.

Now for the next buy, I had this in the afternoon, I suddenly crave for cheesy chips and this one cost me ₱10. Gosh, I remember this is just ₱8 before. Still, for ₱10, I say it's worth it. This is one of my favorite actually.

So I am not left with ₱25, after buying the chips yesterday. So for this one, I bought this bread for the family. We had it for breakfast and this is actually already big. We can have two bread each. Actually this is the bread I bought during my birthday and one of this is already enough to fill someone's stomach.

And we have cheese spread at home so this is really perfect. And this is already good for the family of thee or maybe more? For breakfast, for snacks - let me add for dinner as well. Ehe

So yeah, for a dollar, I already got myself 5 items. To be honest, I can get more if I bought bread in a bakery, some bread here is ₱5 each, if I used all that $1 I can surely get more. So it really depends on how you use that $1, it is already big and it us already a big help. With $1, I can also buy 1 serve of cooked fish in a restaurant and that 3 for ₱20 Lumpiang Shanghai. If you have rice at home that's already a good one good meal. (^._.^)ノ

This is such a fun way to see the value of $1! You stretched it to get snacks, dessert and bread for the family. It really makes you realize that even small amounts can go a long way if you use them wisely.

Eeyyy,, incredible budgeting skills.. buti at my nabibili ka pang mura jan sa inyo.. here in my place, 20 php/pack of bread is good for 1-2 persons only.. and for the nuts, we can't buy 5php only, each pack is at least 20 pesos here..
Super mahal na talaga lahat ngayon..
