Memorable Weekend With Mama: The Sudden Downpour, Going Home Wet Because of the Rain, and a Morning Snack with the Oldies
What a fun start to our day, getting drenched with the sudden downpour and arriving home wet and worried. Well, I was worried because I'm afraid to get sick just because I got wet from the rain. I hate getting sick, so it got me worried. We should've waited for the rain to stop, but then we got bored waiting, and then there's Mama who's saying I should just take a bath once we arrive home. And so, our fun walk in the rain continues, it's just until we arrive home and after buying all we need at the market.

When we left home, I already noticed the dark sky as if it would rain anytime, but then I ignored it. Our first stop was in the pet shop to buy cat food. Mama bought dog food too, of course for her dog. Then we visit next the carenderia near that pet shop. I want to buy a cooked vegetable dish. Mommy F asked me to buy fresh fish in the wet market, and I thought ginataang gulay would be perfect to pair with fish. We're still getting our order, and that's when the rain started.

We're also the ones to blame for why we got wet. There's already the sign that it will rain any moment, but then laziness got the best of me. Lol. But still, I had a lot of fun while catching the rain water in my hand, lol. It's been a long time since I got totally drenched from the rain. It's like going back to my childhood, I remember those times I played with an old car tire with my friends and siblings in the rain. Ahhh, such a beautiful memory ( ◜‿◝ )♡.

Anyways, while we were in the carinderia, I noticed some happy plants on the side with their pretty red flowers. It's too pretty, so it's hard not to notice it. And they had a shower too, as you can see from the raindrops on it.

And I find this plant so interesting because of its flower. I thought at first they were different kinds, but look, that one blooms with red and yellow blossoms. Isn't it amazing? It's cool how nature works, really. I had a good time taking a photo of it.

So we're already wet here, especially our top and the hair. I was wearing thick clothes that time, so I'm still okay. Lol. This is the part where we decided to ignore the rain completely and go to the market. I actually think longer than Mama, she doesn't really care much if she got wet with the rain. As for me, who has a weak immune system, I have to think twice before I make a decision. But in the end, I just go with it. Lol
And when we arrived home, I immediately took a bath and took medicine for fever. It's better to be safe than sorry later, no? Lol.

After taking a bath, I had this spaghetti and choco donut as morning snacks. I only had one piece of bread for breakfast, so I'm already hungry. I shared this with the oldies, of course ( ◜‿◝ )♡

As for the fish I got in the wet market for lunch, I bought Galunggong again, and Mommy D took care of it. I bought 1 kilo for 140 pesos, it's the small kind of Galunggong, by the way, and it's really fresh. Another thing is, it's a different kind of Galunggong, which has a red tail - the one I shared before has a white tail. I also bought two kinds of vegetable dishes, which are corn soup and ginataang gabi, or taro. I forgot to take photos of it, though ( ꈍᴗꈍ).
What an eventful Saturday, it's fun, though, and the unexpected shower in the rain is not part of our walk then. But because it's unexpected,it makes it more fun. Watta day!

the morning snack with the oldies sounds like the perfect way to wrap up an adventurous day! 😄🌧️
Righttttt, we enjoy the snacks especially its been a long time since we last had Spaghetti hehe
How fun to get wet in the rain, it also brings back memories of my childhood (apart from being careful not to get sick, of course) here it's also raining, which means hot chocolate and movies. Your pictures are very nice, have a nice Saturday.💜
Ohhh hot chocolate and movies is a perfect combo during rainy days. It's the best in fact ┏(^0^)┛. Happy Sunday by the way.
An eventful Saturday it was for you. I can't remember the last time I got drenched in the rain. I'm always too conscious especially during rainy season and more careful because I don't like to be beaten by rain. I hope you feel much better after taking your medication? I love the flowers and the raindrop on them make it look more beautiful and colourful.
Maybe its time to experience it again? Hehe. Like, just fir fun and a cool experience ┏(^0^)┛. Yep, fortunately, I didn't get sick and very much okay. Taking meds earlier helps a lot, for sure.
While I was reading your story, I never noticed that tears were suddenly falling from my eyes because I can picture myself and my mom in it. Reminiscing about our market visits, where every errand turned into precious moments just for us, and after that, before heading home, we would stop by this store that sells preloved goods, or we call it "ukay-ukay": from clothes, cookware, shoes, furniture, etc.! Though the memory brings sadness, I find comfort knowing she’s at peace.😌
What also caught my attention were the fish, this is our favorite. We call this "lambarok" or "budburon" and I love to cook this in "inun-unan" way.🤤
Aww, you have such a nice and warm memories with your Mom. Glad to know you created lots of memories with you Mom too ( ◜‿◝ )♡. And the Ukayan is the best place to visit. You can always find a good items in there.
Oh, it has different name in your place. We call it Galunggong or GG. And what's inun-unan? I think I heard that somewhere, I just forgot the meaning. Wl
Others call inun-unan as paksiw but when you're in Cebu cooking fish with vinegar, garlic, red pepper, and with sili espada, we call it inun-unan. Galunggong must be its national name 😅
@ruffatotmeee I forgot to thank you for the upvote. I'm so sorry, still on my way to explore peaked. Am I correct with the term? heheh
