It's an Uneventful Tuesday, but it is SWEET: Enjoyed the Glutinous Rice Flour Flan and Yellow Maja with the Oldies and Mama

We received a "delicious" blessing from a relative yesterday in the afternoon. It's the kind of blessings that I will treat as a "treats" because it really is and it is sweet. And seriously, no joke, it taste so good. It is also the first that I tried that one sweets that they brought here. It is some kind of flan and it is swimming in sugar syrup, haha. And I so love the texture of it. They also gave us sweet Maja. It is not Maja Blanca that is made of cornstarch and sweet corn kernel and cream, this one is literally made with ground corn. Remember the corn we received weeks ago? This treats is also from them. They are so really sweet, omg ෆ⁠╹⁠ ⁠.̮⁠ ⁠╹⁠ෆ.

But before I shared that, let me first share the ganap this morning. We actually ate the sweets we received today as a snAcks and panghimagas or after meal dessert. Anyways, today's happenings is really nothing special, its just the usual and same routine with mama. We went to the market and she decided to just buy Chicken Lumpiang Shanghai, I also bought 2 pieces by the way, just as a snacks and I am actually craving for it.

This is the stall where we bought it and those are the lumpia. They also have fried chicken, haven't tried this one yet. But their lumpia is good, they also have Vinegar as a dip for the Lumpia. Some really just used ketchup or sweet chili sauce but I prefer Vinegar. Their Lumpia only cost 5 each by the way. Really cheap, I tell yah! In some stall they sell it 3 for 20 and the filling is not that much. This one's cheaper but has more fillings in it. When it comes to taste it is also really so good.

After buying the lumpia, we also stop by in this store coz mama wants to buy something.

This is also where I saw a tomato plants and it is already bearing its fruits. Now I also miss having them around. Our tomato sadly died, all of them, like, after giving us a lot of tomatoes. Is it really a one time thing though? Or maybe the soil is just bad.

Now, about the Maja

Here they are, we received 3 container, 2 big container and 1 small, the small one has that Glutinous Rice Flour Flan with a lot of sugar syrup. You can see it in that small box right? Haha. This one has an interesting texture and I love it. I feel like this is just an experimental but they did great with it. The sweetness is just right too. They used glutinous rice flour and with lil cornstarch on this one for sure.

When I first tasted it I thought they mix a glutinous rice flour in it coz it is kind of sticky, I mean, I am sure it has glutinous flour. I am not really sure on that part because I can't taste it but then, that relative of us shares the recipe and yes, it is really made with glutinous flour. I saw this version on FB and I am glad that I get to taste it today. This become a favorite instantly, when will I ever get the chance to taste it again? ʘ⁠‿⁠ʘ

And here's the maja made with ground corn. I base everything on the texture coz I can't taste its flavor. But its a lil sweet and the texture is really heavenly. It is not too soft like the flan but it is really so good.

We finished every today in fact, haha. Of course we also shared some to Mama then we had it as snacks and after meal dessert. I can buy this in the Tiangge-an every Sunday but I don't like the Maja in there. Now that I tasted this one, it can't even compare to the one sold in the market.

And so yeah, that's how we enjoy Tuesday, with a amazing twist in it. And the twist? These sweet treats of course. (⁠^⁠.⁠_⁠.⁠^⁠)⁠ﾉ
