Checking the Night Market in Poblacion and Trying the Milky Coconut Macaroons and Sponge Cake with Two Flavors
We saw a few additions of stalls that sell different items in Poblacion Night Market, which is why we decided to check them again with the hope that we might find something else that can be useful to us.
I am really bored at home and I don't even have anyone with me that I can drag around to go visit the town plaza to have fun, stroll around, or go on a food trip. My Mama is my only companion for all those fun activities, but sadly, she's on long vacation at that time. It's been 21 days, and I'm really getting impatient already. But then, the next day, January 17, finally, she arrived exactly at 7:30 p.m. from Romblon.
There's no drama or what, as long as I know that she finally arrives, then all is well. I didn't even welcome her because it's not really our thing, lol. In fact, it's my mommy F who welcomes her at the gate. Then just ask a few question about the trip while I'm busy with my phone. I'm really not a showy person, all of us are not, not a showy person and all, lol. Anyhow, she's finally home, and I am already excited, as I planned to go with her to the town plaza.
This is it! And guys, see that Creamy White doggo in there? That's Whitey, Mama's adopted doggo. He missed Mama so much that he's howling like a baby that was left for years by her hooman at home. You know, he is so much better at showing his emotions than me and Mama, lol. And yes, he walked with us going to the town plaza. He just stops midway when he feels that the way we're using is not familiar to him. We know that he can go home on his own, so we just let him. Mama talked to him, saying he should go home and rest or wait for us.
Okay, moving on, we saw this toy section that sells different toys, obviously. There's a lot, and the first thing I thought when I saw it was my nieces and nephews. I told my Mama about it, but just like me, she doesn't have the budget for it. While I only bring money for food, omg! I'll just treat them maybe next time, but not today (≧▽≦). There's a few people checking this part too. I even saw a kid having a tantrum. It's sad that they can't buy some for her, but I also understand. I think the real reason they visit here is to have fun and stroll around, spending is maybe not in the plan.
While having our walk in the park, I couldn't help but take notice of the beautiful sky's color that night. It's like we are being accompanied by it, showing how beautiful the night is to enjoy outside. It was a good thing we visited that night because I saw such beauty on our way.
And let me also share a photo of my pretty mother, haha. We noticed that she gained weight in her 22 days spent in her hometown. She said she didn't do much in there but eat. Seriously, she really enjoyed her stay there. And she planned to have another vacation there. She's asking me to come, but, nahhh, I don't wanna! Lol.
So, anyway, it's really not just because of the night market and the foods that we are here, but also because there's a pageant later. It's Miss Tourism Bansud. This is just the stage for that. There are people already waiting in there. And we have really good weather that night, so it's a perfect gala. Sad to say, in the end we couldn't watch the pageant because we decided to go early, lol.
There are more stalls in here now than before, but some stalls just sell the same thing. Maybe you can just choose here based on the quality, the price, or maybe the design. Maybe this is the effect of those online shops, but a few people are checking out this place now. I can't help but pity some of them who can't get customers.
I just observed it while we're having a walk in here, and I have this urge to buy their item even though I don't need it. That's what I felt, but unfortunately, I am not that rich to do that, even though it is low in price. I can't just spend and spend because I feel that way. But I hope that they got a lot of customers later
As we move further, we discovered new things that they sell here. I even saw someone still sewing on her sewing machine at 6:30 pm. There is someone waiting for her on the side, maybe that's the customer. And maybe too, she does some repairing on any fabric or clothes in here. It's unique business because they are the only ones who do that in this whole-night market.
There's a lot of Thrift Shop in here too, by the way. Look, Mom's already checking them out, lol. I also check if I will like some shirts in there, but after asking for the price and checking my wallet, I pass! Hahaha, it's a pass for me. Another is this stall that sells different kinds of shoes, from brand new ones to secondhand ones. I saw some people checking this stall a while ago, not sure if they bought some in there.
Another one is this, and this one sells different kinds of useful things for our home. Mama bought a couple of things in here, which only cost her 20 PHP. Every item here costs 10 PHP, or $0.18. So cheap, right? They have kitchenwares, some tools, toys, box organizers, and many, many more. I also saw a lot of people checking this stall and checking every item in here.
Here's a full photo of the night market, it's dark, right? Aside from the fact that we're early at that time, the electricity is kind of acting up, so they don't have the full light yet. But each stall has its own bulb, maybe with the use of something. You can still see the items that each stall has.
And as we walked further, we were able to discover new things that's new to our eyes. Just like these handmade crafts in here, like wallets, necklaces, and even bracelets, I saw more teens on this part. I think they also like the part where they can put their names on their chosen wallet designs.
This was my thing when I was a teenager. But I just stopped wearing those things. But of course I still appreciate them, especially since they all look great. And to be honest, I want to buy one of those necklaces, the blue one. I just back out because I'm not sure where to use it, lol.
So, we're done looking around on this part, so we moved on to where the food stalls are. I mean, we move on to this particular one, haha, my favorite food stall in there that sells different cakes. You know, I didn't know that cake would be one of my favorites. I only discovered this recently, but I have always had cravings for cake since I tasted the yummy cake here at our place. My mouth watered just with the thought of it.
So back to this shop, they are called Happy Scoop, and they sell different kinds of food here, they have cake in a cup, they also sell burgers and ice cream and many more. And that night, they have a new addition to their menu, which is the coconut macaroons, sponge cake with two flavors, and the ham and cheese bread. I want to get that ham and cheese bread, but it's $1 each, and it's small, so I didn't get this one.
I only get the sponge cake with chocolate and classic flavor and some of these milky macaroons. They taste so good that I have to go back in there to buy more and let my oldies taste them too. They also love it, saying that it is so milky. If I compare this to those macaroons that I had tasted before, this one so far is the best.
We also have a take home cake in a cup for us, with strawberry and mango flavors. Look at my oldies enjoying their cake, haha. Right now, nothing can make me happier than this beautiful sight of them enjoying the food I brought for them. Mommy F got so used to me bringing food home that she won't sleep if I'm not home yet. I'm sure she's also looking forward to my "pasalubong." (≧▽≦)
those stalls with cheap stuff always attracts moms even for me, I love checking out those knick knacks spot.
Haha right, even me, and you can really find lots of useful things on those spot.
That looks so delicious, it makes my mouth watering. I hope I could also visit the stalls here in our place.
