Blessed With a Good Harvest: Newly Harvested Four Bitter Gourds in Mama's Garden and Her New Medicinal Plants Called "Paragis"

1000010496.png

The weather's really bad in our place right now, and it's been on for, like, three days now. We're really just thankful that it is not continuous. The rain stops for like an hour, and then it will start again. It is also not the heavy one, though yesterday, it made us experience a strong one. But it didn't last long, thank heaven! There's a typhoon right now, I think, in the Philippines, and seeing those who are experiencing it is just devastating. I am wishing for everyone's safety. Stay alert too ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ

As of typing this, the rain started pouring again, and right now I am craving for pizza and burger. I feel like pairing it with choco drink will taste it even better. Sadly, I am out of the budget right now and I don't feel like converting my Hive token especially this is just a "wants." For me to touch my hard earned coins or token, it should be a "need" or a necessities. I'm just being a responsible spenders right, now. So no to food cravings for ┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌. This will do for now and I only spent 11 pesos for it.

So this is the situation of the small river near our home. Thankfully the water level is still low. I just hope it doesn't change. You know how even the light rain, if it's too often, it can still resulted a flooding. But now, I should be positive that this shall pass!.

Anyways, i'll be sharing another update of our plants in Mama's garden. This is a different plants, at least different from what I shared last week. And this was planted on the ground and seriously, I didn't noticed that the buttergourd here is already as big as the one on the upper part. Looking so good no? I took this last 2 days ago, the weather that time is a little okay but it rained during the night.

And here the ginger, it's been 3 weeks, the furst time I shared about it. The first two photos is Mama's plant while the other two is Mommy D's. They're looking good right now as well as they're growing steadily. And with rain right now, they are for sure feeling fantastic with it. Haha

Now, the next plants is called "Paragis" or Indian Goosegrass or Wiregrass according to google. This one is like a wild plants that can just sprout anywhere. Mana learned about the medicinal benefits of Paragis and how good it is for the body. She can't grow them in our yard before because if her pets but now, luckily, there's a few more of them in her garden. I am not sure if this can really treat something, but it isa plant, a harmless one, so I think, boiling and drinking it is not bad. I do drink it too if Mama boiled some. I hope though that they will grow more in the yard.

By the way, this afternoon, Mama decided to harvest the bitter gourd. Look at that, we're so happy with this harvest. Mama decided to harvest it because you know, she doesn't want to pick it when it's already ripen. And actually, she already throw one of it because it become rotten. And she doesn't want it to happen with the rest of the bitter gourd.

She'll be making Ginisang Ampalaya tomorrow using that newly harvested bitter gourd. A new batch of eggs just arrive in the store near our house and there's a crack eggs again, they are much cheaper than the normal egg. This crack eggs cost 4 pesos each only. The normal price would beb 8, imagine the amount we saved. They are new and because they just arrive, Mama was able to get a good eggs with just little cracks on them, so safuuu, not contaminated or something. So we don't have to think about our viand tomorrow, because already have this. Now all I have to think now is what to pair with it, fried fish? Or dried? Hmmm, let see, we'll know tomorrow.

It's again a happy harvest ( /^ω^)/♪♪

I had never seen that pumpkin before, it's amazing, with a shape and colour that are new to me, and I'm sure that dish you're going to make with the eggs will be delicious. I can see that you're good at managing both Hive's money and other day-to-day things. And that's very good and valuable. We often feel like eating something, which is fine, but you've handled it well.

I hope there are no floods. The climate is changing all over the world: heat waves, floods, extreme cold... a little bit of everything.
Regarding the medicinal plant paragis, it is good for fever, respiratory problems and even kidney problems. A long time ago I had a book on medicinal herbs, but they vary from country to country. Research is very good, but be careful with the doses, the amount of leaves and a tip I'll give you: the leaves should only be boiled for 15 minutes. Thank you very much!

I'm super excited for the recipe actually, and because I asked Mama to put more egg, it will be really so delicious for sure. ✨💃

The recipe will turn out great, I'm sure of it! You should always manage your money, whether you have a lot or a little. Those who know how to manage a little will know how to manage a lot.

The leaves are boiled for 15 minutes and the roots, such as valerian, which is a plant for the nerves, are boiled for 30 minutes. I love this topic.

Those bitter gourd look so nice. I bet it will be bitter sweet nice because you grow them yourself.

And great work on not withdrawing just because you want something. Think long term and grow your stake on Hive. You will thank yourself one day. Don't leave too much liquid Hive, stake it to help yourself grow

Yep, yep, mama will cook it later for lunch ✨💃

Yep, it needs a lot of hardwork too because it's really hard to say no too to temptation. Lol. Thank you for that, I'll note that ✨☺️

This vegetable is very popular in our city and in our country and it is very good for our health. When we plant it in our garden and see it grow itself, this experience is also memorable.

I love the ginisang ampalaya! I also harvested mine just this afternoon. It really feels good when we have something to pick from the backyard to satisfy our taste buds. 😊

And yes, the downpour was a little heavy these past few days but luckily, no damage recorded - the rain makes the plants even happier.

That paragis is really interesting! They look just nothing, stepped on, weeded, burned, but hey, they have amazing health benefits! cool 😊 They symbolize lowkey people who looked like nobody, but actually, they are somebody. Humble but helpful. 💚 Thanks for sharing 💝
