A Special Day Filled with Joy, Lively Music, and Good Food: The Small Feast We Prepared During the Basudani Festival and the Beautiful Street Dancing
It's the most anticipated day for us Bansudeños, and I am a little bit excited for the street dancing as well as the grand variety show later that night. We didn't have that many visitors, I think 8 people came to our house and ate the simple dish Mommy D made. They are mostly a friend and their regulars in the store. And as usual, I was assigned to do dishes while the oldies take care of our visitors. It's their friend, and even though I'm familiar to them, I don't really interact with them, so Im just hiding in my room while they are having a feast and will only go outside when it's already time to wash the plates, lol.
So it's finally that day, the Basudani Festival. It was last January 19 when we celebrated it. The oldies wake up earlier while I get out of bed a bit late. I mean, I can't really help much in the cooking, so I just leave it to Mommy D. Then that morning, I was tasked to go visit the market to buy a hatdog. They want to mix it in the dish Mommy D prepared, so here I am having a morning walk. And because it's still early, I took my time walking while enjoying the quiet and cold air.
Our first visitor that day was Aunt Velyn. After a little bit of chismisan, we had an early lunch because we're already hungry, lol. Especially me, who's been craving the dish prepared. Here's the food we had that day. Mommy F bought a well-roasted chicken from our neighbor. It is yummy, juicy, and a little bit sweet. And it comes with this special Pilipino liver sauce, and they also give us their soy sauce, calamansi, and red chili for another sauce. I like that they have two different kinds of dip for their toasted chicken. And so, of course, I get my favorite part of the chicken, the leg part.
Then in the afternoon, street dancing started. Criminology interns are all over the place to take care of the traffic. The street dancing was on the main road, so they really need these interns.
The street dancing begins, and it's a tradition that our mayor and the City Hall employee will come in the front during the parade
Here's the first performer. They have a pretty costume, the color too. They are all lively, giving all their best while they are being watched by the judges on the second floor of that yellow building. And yes, they stop on this spot to dance to the music.
Here's the second performer, their costume is beautiful too, of course. I just cant tell, which highschool they belong. And they performed really well too, and in sync, just like number one.
And the third, I couldn't get a good photo of them, though, because there are just too many people, and I don't feel like getting closer to anyone. Lol. Yeah, I can suddenly have those feelings of hiding my whole existence from everyone. My last drop of confidence already down to zero, so I couldn't watch the rest. Lol. Still, I enjoyed the first three that performed. I hear there's a nine group that performed in the street dancing. And I also heard that the school that won was from PNHS, which is my former school (ʘᴗʘ✿). So proud of them, I remember a lot of my classmates winning in the competition, so I am not the only one who feels that way about the winner, hehe.
Anyways, overall, I enjoyed the Basudani Festival, I mean, WE. It is that one event every year that we always look forward to after New Year (◍•ᴗ•◍).
