A Blessing of Crops From the Sweet Relative of Mommy D: Sweet and Delicious Brown Corn, a Different Type of Corn
"Corn Soup", that's what I first thought after seeing the corn we received from a relative. It's from Mommy D's niece actually.

I was in the garage watching over these babies when I heard Mommy F's loud voice thanking someone, (please give these babies lots of love and kisses)
Like seriously, Mommy F doesn't need a megaphone to be heard by the crowd, her voice is already that loud. Lol. I remember when I was still a kid, I was really afraid with that loud voice of Mom, but now i'm used to it already and I just find Mom's loud voice really useful. Especially when "Mamang Magtataho" will pass by in his fast and furious motorcyle, lol. Or when Mamang Sorbetero will pass by riding his tribike with their sweet and creamy ice cream. Mom just need to use her loud voice to call them. Lolol.

But anyways, as i've said, we received bunch if Corn from a relative and they are the brown ones. They told the oldies about how sweet this variety of corn and indeed, it is really sweet. It is too sweet for my liking to be honest. Still, it is really malasa and sweet. It's good and even I suggested to make corn soup, but the oldies preferred the boiled corn. So sadly, no corn soup for me (╥﹏╥)

And according to Mommy D, these are homegrown, my, that's even better. I'm sure they also put a lot of effort taking care of this and we are so grateful to receive such blessings. Seriously, Mommy D's relatives are all so sweet. Some will just arrive home carrying a plastic bag full of veggies and if not veggies then fruits or even cooked meals and snacks. The truth is, I am not too familiar with them, I don't socialize even with her family although Auntie Velyn is the only exemption. As fir the other, they are like strangers to me. Even our legit relatives, they are all strangers to me. Still, I am grateful to them whenever we received such blessings.

So as for the oldies request, I just boiled the corn but before that, I cut then in half first using my hand, haha. Using a knife would be much harder but with a hand, just snap it in half then voila ... Done. And we didn't boil this longer because I want my boiled corn a little hard. I don't really like a boiled corn if its too soft, like even all of them are popping and turning too sticky. Mommy D prefer that kind but for me and Mommy F, we like it a bit hard where there's still a lil crunch in it. How about you?

And it's done after 26 minutes. Wee noticed that the color is much lighter now while the water turn brown. And the oldies drank that corn water and we proceed eating the corn.

I was only able to eat one whole corn while the oldies, each had two or even more. They love corn to be honest, the opposite of me. I like it but not much.

And because I have a lot of time, I decided to dismember my corn, hahaha. I used my teeth to get all these - just kidding. Lol. I actually use a fork to get all these. Took me a lot of time to do it but my, after getting it all, all I had to do was eat it. I sprinkled salt in it by the way which made it more awesome. I love it! This is how I eat my corn, I prefer it this way because I hate it when a tiny bits of it will stick in between my teeth. Picking them up is kinda a hassle you know. ♪┌|∵|┘♪
I am a bit curious why this corn has this color and I want to know what's the different of it to the others so a made a little research. I didn't make an effort I just typed it and hit enter. And I just open the first article I saw... Lol. So I think this corn is under Flint Corn which is hard and tough unlike the white and sweet corn..
So yeah, that's how we enjoyed this snack. We had happy stomach after that. ( ◜‿◝ )♡

Yeah, our mom's loud voice is useful specially if uutusan nila tayo hahaha. The corn looks yummy but is it more delicious than sweet corn?
Haha, that too, yong no choice talaga kapag ginamit na nila yong malakas at may gigil na sigaw hahaha. Hmmm, sweet corn is nroe delicious I think. When it comes to sweetness naman almost similar na sila. Kakaumay sa tamis eh
Ahhh, that's why mostly kids are joking that our mothers are a dragon hahahah.Nothing beats a sweet corn HAHAHA.
I love corns! I haven't seen and tried that kind of corn. I've tried the purplish color one, is it the same or not? But my favorite corn among all varieties is the sweet corn. you can add butter on it and then grill it. Oh so yummy! I miss eating sweet corns. Unluckily, I can't find one here in our wet market.
I think they are kind of similar 🤔. Is it a combination of purple and white ba? I also tried that one b4 though di ko masyadong bet texture nyan. Oh with with butter or margarine, I like salted margarine with it though. The best!
The one I tried and tested were pure purple color. It even stained my hands while eating it. Yeah I love salted margarine too! So delish!
I haven't tried that corn yet. The yellow and white I already ate before and I like the white corn, the sticky one😁
Oh yes, that stickt one Mommy D loves that. Its super sticky dumidikit naman sya sa teeth. Naiiniis ako kapag ganyan gahaha
I believe is corn soup that the babies are enjoying, well we have different types of corn with their different nutrients content, this is my first time of seeing the brown corn i know it will nutritious as well
Corn soup is my favorite. I love to eat that with rice though haha. Each type has own health benefits for sure.
