Source of Life: Our Fresh Water Here In The Province

1000318071.png

Hello hivers , how was your day! Today I would like to share, where did the provincial girl get the water? If you read my blog that says we are poor in water and our water sources are far away. Now this is all about .

From our house I walk 15 mins. to reach our fresh river. This is where everyone fetches water, our people and other residents in our area also do their laundry.

You can see here that the water is not that clear because it just came out of the flood, but I swear our water is really clear, it's even clearer than your boyfriend's hehehe (LoL). I'm going down and this makes me excited to take a cold bath. The one you saw was a yellow bucket, that's all I brought to do the laundry hehehe, it's heavy so I only brought a little. Sometimes when someone rides the 3 wheel tricycle, I give them a ride, or I borrow a motorcycle from my Aunt, because I know how to drive. I prefer to walk ,it's not scary because I'm already known in our area.

I come here 5 to 6 times a week, with the kids, usually they are not there because they are studying, when it rains I only come here once because I only wash and bathe at our house. When I'm get lazy, I only come here to bathe, I don't do laundry anymore, only on Sundays I bring my husband with me so he can bring the laundry hehehe.

Even before that, this was our water source, because it was clean and flowing water, some people used to fetch it only for cooking, and washing clothes, but it was not allowed to drink it because it was open water. The one with the tricycle was better because they could fetch a lot, like us, we paid 20 pesos per gallon to fetch. When we could borrow a motorcycle from my Aunt, we bought the gasoline ourselves.

The pic, first photo is the road to school, 2nd photo back to us, you can see a 3 wheel tricycle passing by, hehehe but I can't ride it because I'm wet. You can ride here, no problem at all, it only costs 10 pesos, but it's still better because I'm used to it because even back then, when my dad was still alive, we used to carry laundry bags with us as a whole family to do laundry. We still had the afternoon, we would bring a pot and rice to cook lunch there. Back then, we caught a lot of fish and shrimp in the water, there was no problem with the viands. We also hung our clothes on the bridge or on the grass, hung them so that when we got home, they would be ready to fold and not too heavy to carry. It was even more fun when we, the neighbors who were just my mom's siblings, all did the laundry, we didn't even notice the time, it was like we were having a picnic by the water.

The simple life in the province is just normal for us. Usual tasks that others cannot adapt to, that's how we will find a way to get the job done. Together, we have grown up and are still experiencing the same thing. Thank you for reading my post until next time.

Back in my hometown, we also used to fetch water from a river, especially during dry season when the supply was low. It was tiring but somehow fun, walking with buckets, chatting with neighbors and taking a quick dip in the cold water after doing laundry.
