Should I Go Back to Modern Format or Stay in Wild Format?

There are two formats in the Splinterlands: Modern and Wild Format. In the Modern format, cards from the Rebellion and Chaos Legion* edition can be used, but in the Wild format, all cards can be used. My deck is richer in terms of Chaos Legion and Rebellion cards, so it is more suitable for the Modern format, but it was incredibly difficult for me to play and win battles in the Modern format, so I have been playing only in the Wild format for a long time. My guess is that usually the more powerful teams play in the Modern format because I was matched against more powerful teams there and the battles were much more difficult for me, so it was much harder for me to win the battles. Therefore, it was really difficult to play in the Modern format for players like me who do not have a very powerful deck, so I think most players prefer to play in the Wild format. Additionally, bots can only play in the Wild format, which makes the battles there easier.

In short, in my experience, the probability of being matched with real players and powerful teams is higher in the Modern format, while the probability of being matched with weaker teams is higher in the Wild format. And although my deck is more suitable for the Modern format, I play in the Wild format because it is not powerful enough. However, there were significant changes to the Wild format yesterday, so I'm trying to decide whether I should go back to the Modern format or stay with the Wild format.

By the way, players can play in either the Modern or Wild format, and they can play in both formats if they want, but I prefer to play in only one format because I do not like to play messily. Additionally, the rewards are higher in the Modern format compared to the Wild format.

I am currently playing in the Champion III League in the Wild format. After yesterday's changes, I see that the rewards I can earn from ranked battles have decreased significantly, and when I calculate roughly, it seems that the Glint reward I earn from the ranked battle I win has decreased by almost 40%, and my SPS reward has decreased by 20%. To be honest, I have no idea how the rewards are calculated, anyway I play Splinterlands because I enjoy it and love it, not for the rewards. Of course, it is great to gain profit as well as to enjoy it, especially they help me grow my deck and increase my SPS stake, but as I said, the most important thing for me is to enjoy the game I play and I really enjoy playing Splinterlands.

In addition, in order to play in the Wild format after next season, we will need to purchase a Wild Pass and its price is around $1, as seen in the picture above.

Per this passed proposal, at the start of the next season, you will need to purchase a pass to play in the Wild format. This pass is only good for one season, and will need to be purchased for each new season going forward.

Also per the same proposal, the SPS requirements have been doubled for reward boosts when playing in the Wild format.

I think this is a great change because I think most players will not want to pay $1 and will prefer to play in the Modern format to earn more rewards.

I haven't decided yet, but I may choose to play in the Modern format after next season, so today I started to experience the Modern format again. I had been playing in the Wild format for a long time and almost never in the Modern format, and when I looked at the Modern format, I saw that I was in the Bronze II league. And the rewards are incredibly small, but as I advance to the higher leagues, my rewards will increase significantly. And today I fought 10 battles and won all of them and unlocked Bronze I as well. But the most interesting thing is that I am matched with powerful teams even in the Bronze league and I cannot even dream of the upper leagues.

Although it is disappointing to be matched with more powerful teams even in the bronze league, I believe that the number of players in the Modern format will increase in the following seasons and the matches will be more balanced. I haven't rented cards for a long time, but as I advance to higher leagues in the Modern format, I will need to rent cards. Frankly, this is not a big problem for me, the important thing is, will my card rental be worth it? I will find the answer to this in the following seasons. By the way, skills win battles, not cards, so I rely more on my game knowledge than the cards I have.

In conclusion, I can say that I am happy with the change for now and I believe that such changes will make the Splinterlands better. And the team is truly doing great work to make Splinterlands better. First of all, I really enjoy playing Splinterlands and if you haven't started this great game yet, I think you are missing out.

I ask myself the same question... If Modern becomes playable, I would of course like to switch to Modern because I have the most cards for it.

Well I don't know for you, you need to make the choice yourself at the end of the day.

But I'm personally staying in WILD. (Mostly due to my weak Modern deck, but also that I just enjoy having everything available in each battle).

I play both format in the season. I reached Champion league in the Wild league, and I am heading to Gold league in the Modern format.
Also, I switch from one format to the next when I see the opportunity to increase my win rate.
Regardless of the choice, as you go higher in the league, the opponent gets better. The rewards also grow in proportion.
Thank you for sharing this report.
Have a good day
