Maneuvers Ruleset - Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge | Splinterlands

Hello everyone, I hope everything is going well in your life. Welcome to my Battle Mage Secrets post. In this post, I will talk about the Maneuvers Ruleset.

Maneuvers Ruleset

In battles with the Maneuvers Ruleset, all units gain Reach Ability. However, it is an ability that only works for Units with Melee Attacks, it does not work for others. But Sneak Ability and Opportunity Ability override Reach Ability. And Armored Strike is a melee attack.

  • Reach Ability : Melee attack Units with the Reach ability may attack from the second position on the team.

In battles with the Maneuvers Ruleset, I make a big point of including abilities like Blast, Trample, or Double Strike to my lineup whenever I have the opportunity, and put it in the second position, and Monsters with any of these abilities really do a great job in battles. Additionally, using Melee attack Monsters with high attack power or two types of attacks will also be useful.

Many players, including me, use these abilities I mentioned, so I take care to use the Thorns Ability in the first position in my team. Because Monsters with the Thorns Ability deal 2 Melee damage back to the attacker when hit with a Melee attack. And if you use the Thorns Ability together with the Amplify Ability, enemy melee attack monsters take +1 more damage from Thorns. However, if Health is impacted, taking damage from Thorns will trigger Enrage Ability. Additionally, the Reflection Shield Ability does not take damage from Thorns or Blast.

Battle Ruleset

  • Maneuvers: All units gain reach.
  • Stampede: The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.
  • Healed Out: All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners.

MY STRATEGY & LINE UP

According to the rulesets of the battle, in this battle all Monsters will have the Reach Ability and all healing abilities will be removed from Monsters and Summoners. Also, due to the Stampede ruleset, using the Trample Ability will be very useful, but I will not be able to use this ability in this battle, but if the mana cap of the battle was 35 or more, I would definitely use it.

Since I think the opposing player will prefer Melee Attack Monsters, I will use the Thorns Ability in the first position and last position in my team. I will also include the Amplify Ability in my lineup, allowing enemy Melee attack Monsters to take +1 extra damage from Thorns. Additionally, since I believe that armor will be very useful for my team in this battle, I will also include the Protect Ability in my lineup to give +2 armor to all friendly Monsters. I will also add Katrelba Gobson to my team, as I consider the possibility that there may be a Monster with Thorns Ability in the first position on the opposing team. If the opposing team does not have Thorn Ability in the last position, I believe that Katrelba Gobson will be very effective in this battle with its abilities, so I will put it in the middle position to prevent it from being the first target of the enemies.

The continuation of the strategy and my team's lineup is as follows;

LINE UP

Summoner : HELIOS MATRIARCH

I choose Helios Matriarch as Summoner so I can use a gladiator card in battle. Helios Matriarch is a Dragon Summoner that allows the use of a gladiator card in battle and grants +1 speed to all friendly Monsters. And thanks to Helios Matriarch, I will be able to use both the dragon unit and the earth unit.

Position 1 : DJINN CHWALA

Djinn Chwala is a Dragon that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has the Thorns Ability and Enrage Ability at level 4. I was guessing that the opposing team might have Melee Attack Monsters in the first position and second position, so I put it in the first position.

Position 2 : HILL GIANT

Hill Giant is an Earth Monster that can attack the target with Melee attacks, but does not have any abilities at level 5. I'd say I added it to my team since it has 8 health and only costs 3 mana. And since it has the Reach Ability in this battle, I put it in the second position.

Position 3 : QUEEN MYCELIA

Queen Mycelia is a Earth Monster that can attack the target with a Magic Attack and has the Protect Ability and Amplify Ability at level 2. Thanks to the Protect Ability, all monsters in my team will have +2 armor, while thanks to the Amplify Ability, enemy Melee Attack Monsters will take +1 extra damage from Thorns. And I put Queen Mycelia in the third position. I think it is a great advantage to have the Queen Mycelia card in such low-mana battles.

Position 4 : KATRELBA GOBSON

Katrelba Gobson is a Earth Gladiator that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has the Sneak Ability, Double Strike Ability and Snare Ability at level 5. I added Katrelba Gobson to my team because I believe that it will be very effective in this battle with its abilities and will help me win. Katrelba Gobson becomes much more dangerous to its enemies, especially when he destroys his targets, and I trust it a lot in this battle, so its destruction early in the battle would ruin my entire strategy, so I put it in the fourth position to keep it away from the enemies' first attacks.

Position 5: FUNGUS FIEND

Fungus Fiend is a Earth Monster that can attack the target with a Melee Attack. The main reason I added Fungus Fiend to my team was because it cost 0 mana, and I put it in the fifth position. My aim was to stall the Sneak and Opportunity Monsters with it.

Position 6: MYCELIC MORPHOID

Mycelic Morphoid is a Earth Monster that can attack the target with a Melee Attack and has the Thorns Ability from level 3. I put Mycelic Morphoid in the last position, my aim was to make Melee Attack Monsters with Sneak Ability suffer with it.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Round 1

The first attack was made by Katrelba Gobson and it destroyed the opposing team's Furious Chicken and Scorch Fiend and got +1 to all its stats twice. Katrelba Gobson is now more dangerous to enemies.

The Sneak Monsters on the opposing team hit Mycelic Morphoid and both of them took back damage, and Dhampir Infiltrator was destroyed by the back damage it got. The combination of Thorns and Amplify caused them to take serious back damage, even causing Dhampir Infiltrator to be destroyed early, otherwise Dhampir Infiltrator would have been destroyed after its second attack. The Thorns and Amplify combo caused almost all enemy Melee Attack Monsters to suffer, which is exactly why I love this combo.

Round 2

In the second round, Katrelba Gobson's brutal attacks and Djinn Chwala and Desert Dragon's helplessness against the Thorns and Amplify combo almost devastated the opposing team. And Hill Giant and Queen Mycelia's finishing hits brought the victory to my team.

The battle lasted only 2 rounds, and while all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, 4 monsters on my team were still alive. To be honest, I didn't expect the battle to last so short and to win the battle so easily. The fact that all the monsters in my team were armored and most of the monsters in the opposing team did not have armor, and I used the Thorns Ability and Amplify Ability together allowed my team to win the battle easily. Using Thorns and Amplify together is a combo that can be very effective against melee attack monsters, and this battle was a good example of that. I highly recommend using this combination in your lineup against melee attack monsters, so you might also consider using this combination in battles with the Maneuvers Ruleset.
