The Marshall Mathers LP is the third studio album by American rapper Eminem. And the album was released on May 23, 2000 by Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records. Additionally, the album was produced by Eminem, Dr. Dre (Andre Romell Young), F.B.T. (Bass Brothers), Mel-Man (Melvin Charles Bradford) and The 45 King (Mark Howard James). The album was recorded over a two-month period at various studios around Detroit. The album features more introspective lyricism, including Eminem's thoughts on his rise from rags to riches, criticism of his music, and his estrangement from his family and wife. This album, an transgressive work, incorporates horrorcore and hardcore hip hop, while also featuring satirical songs. Additionally, the album includes samples or appearances by Dido, Sticky, RBX Fingaz, Snoop Dogg, Bizarre, Xzibit, Nate Dogg and D12.

The Marshall Mathers LP was surrounded to significant controversy upon its release and also propelled Eminem to the forefront of American pop culture. Criticism generally centered on lyrics considered violent, homophobic and misogynistic, as well as references to the Columbine High School massacre. While future second lady Lynne Cheney criticized the lyrics at a United States Senate hearing, the Canadian government considered refusing Eminem's entry to the country. It became one of the best-selling albums of all time, selling 25 million copies worldwide and was certified 11x platinum and Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). There are some really great songs on the album, and these kinds of songs really suit Eminem, he can turn even a simple song into a very powerful one. I can say that the ones I listen to the most are "Stan" and "The Real Slim Shady". I think they are both great works.

Eminem - Stan

I think "Stan" is one of the most influential rap songs of all time. It's a tale of demented fandom told by the perspective of a crazed fan over three increasingly hostile verses, and closing with a measured, revelatory response from Eminem. “Stan” is a triumph of conceptual storytelling and one of Eminem’s most impressive works as both a rapper and producer. Additionally, the term "Stan" has become so colloquial among music and fan communities that it was recognized by Merriam-Webster's dictionary in 2019.

Eminem - The Real Slim Shady

Eminem's vocals are amazing. His rapping in this song in particular is amazing, he honestly gives a very bombastic performance that works very well in this song.​ I think it's one of Eminem's works that will never get old.
