In battles with the Back to Basics Ruleset, Monsters lose all their abilities, but Summoners do not lose their abilities, so I think Summoner selection is very important in such battles.

In battles with the Back to Basics Ruleset, I generally prefer Magic Attack Monsters, and I see many players prefer Magic Attack Monsters as well. My favorite Summoners in the Back to Basics Ruleset are Grandmaster Rathe and Immortalis because they can really help me win these types of battles. Grandmaster Rathe grants +1 Armor, Void Armor Ability, and Amplify Ability to all friendly monsters. Immortalis grants Void Ability and Shatter Ability to all friendly monsters, and reduces the health of all enemy monsters by -1. I can say that Void Armor Ability and Void Ability are especially useful against Magic Attack Monsters in battles with the Back to Basics Ruleset.​ This is my personal opinion, if you have a better strategy for this type of battles or your favorite abilities, I would be very grateful if you tell me in the comments.

I will share one of my most interesting battles with the Back to Basics Ruleset, I hope you like it.

MY STRATEGY

According to the ruleset of the battle, I could only use Life Summoner in this battle, so I decided without hesitation to choose Grandmaster Rathe and use Magic Attack Monsters. I wasn't sure what strategy the opposing player would team up with or what cards they would prefer, but no matter which ones they chose, it didn't really matter to me because I will prefer my favorite strategy that works best in these types of battles.

By choosing Grandmaster Rathe as the Summoner, I will ensure that all monsters in my team have +1 Armor, Void Armor Ability, and Amplify Ability. I would like to say that the Amplify Ability will not be of any use in this battle, the important thing for my team was the armor and Void Armor Ability.

I set up my team's lineup as follows; While I will put Monsters with high armor and health in the first positions, I will put Monsters with high attack power in the last positions.

I would like to point out that I will not talk about the Monsters' abilities in this battle, as they cannot use them.

LINE UP

Summoner : GRANDMASTER RATHE

Grandmaster Rathe is a Life Summoner who gives +1 Armor, Void Armor Ability, and Amplify Ability to all friendly monsters.

• Void Armor Ability : Magic attacks hit this Unit's armor before its Health.
• Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy units by 1.

Position 1: BLINDING REFLECTOR

Blinding Reflector is a Life Monster that can attack the target with a Melee Attack and has 2 Speed, 4 Armor and 5 Health at level 5.The main reason why I added Blinding Reflector to the team and put it in the first position was because it has 4 Armor and 5 Health.

Position 2: PELACOR CONJURER

Pelacor Conjurer is a Life Monster that has no attack power and has 4 Speed and 6 Health at level 5. The main reason why I added Pelacor Conjurer to the team and put it in the second position was because it only costs 2 mana and has 6 Health.

Position 3: TIME MAGE

Time Mage is a Life Monster that can attack the target with 2 Magic Attacks and has 4 Speed, 3 Health at level 3. The reason I added Time Mage to the team was because it only costs 4 mana and has 2 Magic Attacks. I put Time Mage in the third position.

Position 4: AVES STURGIS

Aves Sturgis is a Life Monster that can attack the target with 2 Magic Attacks and has 1 Armor, 2 Speed and 3 Health at level 2. The main reason I added Aves Sturgis to the team was because it had 2 Magic Attacks, and since it only has 3 health I put it in the fourth position.

Position 5: DJINN RENOVA

Djinn Renova is a Life Monster that can attack the target with 3 Magic Attacks and has 3 Speed and 6 Health at level 3. The reason I added Djinn Renova to the team was because she has 3 Magic Attacks. I put Djinn Renova in the fifth position.

Position 6: MAGI OF CHAOS

Magi of Chaos is a Neutral Monster that can attack the target with 3 Magic Attacks and has 2 Speed and 6 Health at level 3. The reason I added Magi of Chaos to the team was because he has 3 Magic Attacks. I put Magi of Chaos in the last position.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Round 1

I'm not surprised that the opposing team's summoner is also Grandmaster Rathe. However, I was pleased that the attack power of the Magic Attack Monsters on the opposing team was low. All Monsters that attacked in the first round hit their targets, but due to the Void Ability, no Monsters could be destroyed in the first round.​

Round 2

In the second round, one monster from both teams was destroyed, but the opposing team lost a very powerful monster like Uriel the Purifier.

Round 3

All monsters with attacks hit their targets, but the higher attack power of the monsters in my team made it easier to destroy the monsters in the opposing team. In the third round, while another monster from the opposing team was destroyed, no monster from my team could be destroyed.

Round 4

In the fourth round, one monster from each team was destroyed, but the destruction of Iziar, who had the highest health on the opposing team, was admirable.

Round 5

In the fifth round, one more monster from the opposing team was destroyed, while no monster from my team was destroyed. At the end of the fifth round, there were only 2 monsters left on the opposing team, which showed that things were not going well for them.

Round 6

There were 2 monsters left on the opposing team and it was not difficult to destroy them in the sixth round and my team managed to win this battle.

The battle lasted 6 rounds, and at the end of the battle, all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, while 3 monsters on my team were still alive. Frankly, in battles with the Back to Basics ruleset, I think it is admirable that 3 monsters are alive at the end of the battle. Because in these types of battles, the battles are much more competitive, but my team won this battle easily, which showed that my strategy worked well in this battle. I can say that choosing Grandmaster Rathe as the summoner and the lineup of my team were very effective in winning this battle, so I prefer these types of strategies in these types of battles, as I explained above, and I can say that they worked very well for me.
