With the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a collaborator for many sectors, its use is increasing day by day, its use in the music industry, as in many other sectors, is increasing day by day. The use of AI increased significantly in 2023 and is expected to increase further in the future.

A survey of more than 1,000 musicians conducted by Pirate found that 25% of musicians were already incorporating AI into their studio work, and 72% reported positive experiences with AI tools. Additionally, in the survey, musicians were asked about the stages of music creation where artificial intelligence is most beneficial. The results are as follows;

According to the study, the results show that 30% of musicians find AI extremely useful when songwriting and composing songs, 21% leveraged AI mostly for research and inspiration, 12% for creating beats and rhythms, and 10% for mastering their tracks. Additionally, 46% of musicians who have not yet used AI tools expressed their willingness to consider using AI music tools in the future.

The research asked which AI tools they use to create music, which revealed the top 10 AI tools used in music production. According to the results of the research, the top 10 Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for musicians, chosen by the musicians themselves, are as follows; Additionally, the research asked why they used that AI tool.

  1. ChatGPT (Best For: Songwriting and composition)
  2. Ozone 11 (Best For: Mastering music)
  3. LALAL.AI (Best For: Separating stems for remixing and sampling)
  4. BandLab SongStarter (Best For: Inspiration, support for beginners, writers' block)
  5. GOYO (Best For: Audio segmentation and manipulation)
  6. AIVA (Best For: Composition)
  7. AWS DeepComposer (Best For: Melody composition and exploration)
  8. Moises App (Best For: Isolating vocals and instruments in any song)

I think the fact that 25% of artists are already using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and 48% of them state that they may use them in the future is a very high rate when we consider that it is a new technology. Frankly, I can say that I am surprised that the rate is so high, because generally speaking, according to the news I read, many artists are hesitant about adopting artificial intelligence in the studio, and they are also hesitant to broadcast their use of this new technology. But I think they will include AI tools in their work more in the future, because no one can stay away from a developing and widespread technology for too long.

I am not an artist but I use AI tools to create music, frankly I do this not to make money but just because I love music. I've tried most of the tools above and they really do a great job and I'm not surprised that ChatGPT is at the top of the list because it's the tool I use the most too. ChatGPT can assist with songwriting and composing by generating ideas and providing valuable feedback on lyrics.

Enjoy the music and stay with Love.

Question of the Day : Are there any AI tools you use? So why? Or what do you think about the above research?

Congratulations @fredkese! Count me in for another round, please! Thank you so very much!

I haven't used any AI tools in regards to music yet. Overall I do not support the use of AI in music creation, but I can see how it might be useful for certain purposes. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I don't use AI tools but it does make sense because it lowers cost and time to produce music.

I dont use any AI tools and I'm very surprised that Songwriting is on top. That's something that would have to come from the heart, that's what make musicians musicians... i dunno
