A Music Synthesizer May Be Launched into Space Soon | Rising Star Giveaway - Reward 10000 (+5000) Starbits (Ends 8 October UTC)

Have you ever wondered how musical instruments can work in zero gravity? In partnership with Physical Synthesis and Odyssey SpaceWorks, they created the Blue Marble Synthesizer. Blue Marble Synthesizer is the first music synth that can only work in space and be played from earth.

The Kickstarter campaign for the Blue Marble Synthesizer Project is live and if the goal is met, the Blue Marble Synthesizer will be launched aboard the SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket on November 1, 2023. I'm not sure if the goal will be met, but if the goal is met, it would be quite interesting to have the Blue Marble Synthesizer in space, which includes a music synth.

At the core of Blue Marble Synthesiser is using data generated by observing the movement of a marble in zero gravity to control the synthesizer architecture. This data is collected during the marble's journey in the Blue Marble Synthesizer Capsule, which is a miniature spaceship consisting of a pressurized CubeSat module, computer, camera, sensor array, fan, LED array, microphone and speaker.

Interactions occur between the marble floating in the capsule and various sensors, and these interactions are sent back to the world in real time, along with audio and video, and can be accessed via a web-based interface. This Web-based interface is an interactive and self-contained web audio synthesizer that anyone with a link can interact with.

Additionally, Andrew Huang, Trovarsi, Benn Jordan and Maysun were also invited to compose original music using the Blue Marble Synthesizer, and the resulting tracks were said to be released for backers on an exclusive album post-mission.
