We begin our tour of Città Alta in Bergamo

Hello everyone!

Here's the rest of the journey with friends around Bergamo. After visiting the remains of the San Vigilio Castle on the hill and checking what the city and its surroundings look like from above, it's time to visit the next place. This place is the medieval part of the city surrounded by the Venetian Walls of the 16th century, i.e. "Città Alta". In this part of the city there are the most interesting monuments, which is why there are also the most tourists here.

Oto dalsza część wspólnej podróży z przyjaciółmi po Bergamo. Po zwiedzeniu pozostałości po zamku San Vigilio na wzgórzu oraz sprawdzeniu jak wygląda miasto i jego okolice z góry, nadszedł czas na zwiedzenie kolejnego miejsca. Tym miejscem jest średniowieczna cześć miasta otoczona Weneckimi Murami z XVI wieku, czyli "Città Alta". W tej części miasta znajdują się najciekawsze zabytki, dlatego jest tu też najwięcej turystów.

We start our route from the north-western part of the old town. We have a lot to admire right now.

Naszą trasę zaczynamy od północno-zachodniej części starego miasta. Od razu mamy co podziwiać.

The Visconti Citadel from the 14th century becomes our first point where we stopped for a while.

Cytadela Viscontich z XIV wieku staje się naszym pierwszym punktem, gdzie się na chwilę zatrzymaliśmy.

Today (Wikipedia):
"The Citadel today hosts municipal services of social and cultural interest, such as the La Crotta public garden, the Civic Museum of Natural Sciences, the Civic Archaeological Museum, the Pocket Theater, the Institute of Geology, and the Montessori Center."

Obecnie (Wikipedia):
"W Cytadeli znajdują się dziś usługi miejskie o znaczeniu społecznym i kulturalnym, takie jak publiczny ogród La Crotta, Obywatelskie Muzeum Nauk Przyrodniczych, Miejskie Muzeum Archeologiczne, Teatr Kieszonkowy, Instytut Geologii i Centrum Montessori."

In the south-eastern part of the building there is a tower with a gate, a clock and a bell on top. The time on the clock differs a few minutes from that on the camera, so we don't have that much time to explore the city.

W południowo-wschodniej części budowli znajduje się wieża z bramą, zegarem oraz dzwonem na górze. Na zegarze czas różni się kilka minut od tego z aparatu, więc czasu na zwiedzanie miasta nie mamy aż tak dużo.

Right next to the Citadel there is a square where the Roncalli Palace is located. There are also restaurants here.

Tuż obok Cytadeli jest plac przy którym znajduje się Pałac Roncallich. Znajdują się tu również restauracje.

From the square, we go down the narrow street of Bartolomeo Colleoni towards the next square - "Piazza Vecchia Bergamo Alta".

Z placu ruszamy wąską uliczką Bartolomeo Colleoni w kierunku kolejnego placu - "Piazza Vecchia Bergamo Alta".

Along the way, you can admire shop windows and balconies.

Po drodze można podziwiać witryny sklepów oraz balkony.

Sometimes, in addition to looking to the sides, it is also worth looking up.

Czasami poza rozglądaniem się na boki warto również spojrzeć do góry.
