New house for Donatello [Esp/Eng]

Hello friends of Hive, and Hive Pets, this is the first time I write in this community and it is to tell you that I have been working these days in a new space for one of the pets we have.

Hola amigos de Hive, y Hive Pets, es la primera que escribo en esta comunidad y es para contarles que estuve trabajando estos días en un nuevo espacio para una de las mascotas que tenemos.

At home the boys have always had some pets, like dogs, chickens, hens and rabbits, and a few years ago an aunt gave them each a Morrocoy and they are still small and we have them in the yard in a pen we made for them because they are so small that we are afraid of them getting lost, and it is a way to keep them safe.

A few months ago Matias got a Morrocoy near the house, it was coming out of the vegetation, he grabbed it and brought it into the house, and we ended up adapting it, and named it Donatello.

En casa los muchachos siempre han tenido algunas mascotas, como perros, pollos, gallinas y conejos, y hace unos años una tía les regaló un Morrocoy a cada uno de ellos y aún están pequeños y los tenemos en el patio en un corral que les hicimos porque son tan pequeños que nos da miedo que se pierdan, y es una forma de tenerlos seguros.

Hace unos cuantos meses atrás Matías se consiguió un Morrocoy cerca de la casa, estaba saliendo de la vegetación, lo agarró y lo metió a la casa, y terminamos adaptándolo, y le puso de nombre Donatello.

Donatello is always on the loose because he is a big morrocoy and you always see him walking all over the yard, eating everything he finds and what we put on him like cambur shells, mango, vegetables and other fruits.

The bad thing about having him free is precisely that he eats everything he finds, and I like to plant to take advantage of the large size of the yard, but he does not let anything prosper because he eats it, for example these days I planted some chaco or sweet potato plants, and the day after planting the chacos he had eaten half of the plants and the next day there was nothing left, so it was time to limit his space a little.

Donatello está siempre suelto porque es un morrocoy grande y uno siempre lo ve caminando por todo el patio, comiendo todo lo que encuentra y lo que le colocamos como conchas de cambur, mango, verduras y otras frutas.

Lo malo de tenerlo libre es precisamente que se come todo lo que encuentra, y a mí me gusta sembrar para aprovechar que el patio es de gran tamaño, pero él no deja que nada prospere porque se lo come, pof ejemplo en estos días sembré unas plantas de chaco o batata, y al día siguiente de sembrar los chacos se había comido la mitad de las plantas y al otro día no quedó nada, así que llegó la hora de limitar un poco su espacio.

I want to do this because I plan to plant more chacos and patillas and I can't have him loose because otherwise he will eat them all, so I decided to make him a corral trying to make it not so small because he likes to walk a lot, so I started to look around the house to see what I could use to build it.

I got a piece of construction mesh, some pipes and wooden sticks and with that I started to work. I cleaned the place where I was going to build the corral, and I had to prune a little bit the icaco bush to be able to work better because I thought it was a good place, it is cool and it will provide shade.

So I got down to work and with pieces of wire I attached the tubes and sticks to the mesh and then nailed it to the ground, then I put more sticks and tubes behind the mesh to reinforce it and prevent the morrocoy from knocking down the mesh because Donatello is very strong and some time ago we tried to make him a corral and he was always looking for a way out and we decided to stop trying.

Esto lo quiero hacer porque pienso sembrar más chacos y patilla y no puedo tenerlo suelto porque sino se las va a comer todas, así que decidí hacerle un corral tratando que no sea tan pequeño porque a él le gusta mucho caminar, emtonces me puse a revisar en la casa para ver qué podía utilizar para armarlo.

Conseguí un pedazo de malla de construcción, unos tubos y palos de madera y con eso me puse a trabajar. Limpie el lugar dónde iba a armar el corral, y tuve que podar un poco la mata de icaco para poder trabajar mejor porque me pareció que era un buen lugar, es fresco y le dará sombra.

Así que me puse manos a la obra y con pedazos de cable sujete los tubos y palos a la malla para luego clavarla en la tierra, luego le coloque por detrás de la mallas más palos y tubos para reforzarlo y evitar que el morrocoy tumbe la malla porque Donatello es muy fuerte y hace tiempo intentamos hacerle un corral y el siempre buscaba como salir y decidimos dejar de intentar.

Once the pen was finished I looked for Donatello and put him in his new home and now I have to wait until tomorrow and for a few more days to see if he still stays inside or if he does one of his tricks and manages to escape which I hope he doesn't because the other thing is to move him to the garden but I'm worried that when the garage opens he might get out. So hopefully he will stay calm in his new space. >

Ya terminado el corral busqué a Donatello y lo metí en su nuevo hogar y ahora me toca esperar hasta mañana y por unos días más para ver si aún permanece dentro o si hace una de las suyas y logra escapar que espero que no lo haga porque lo otro es pasarlo al jardín pero me preocupa que cuando se abra el garaje se pueda salir. Así que ojalá que se quede tranquilo en su nuevo espacio.
