Making a nets for peas plants [Eng/Esp]

Hello friends of Hive and Hive Garden, this is the first time I post in this community and I want to tell you that a few weeks ago I was given some vanilla seeds to sow in the house and together with my son Matias who likes sowing, I did it and I share today in the blog the growth of the vanilla bushes.

I was not sure whether to plant them or not because the soil in the house is not good, the soil is dry, almost sandy and here in Margarita (Venezuela), where I live it hardly rains and the water service cycle is almost a month, so watering the plants is a problem. We have to carry water with buckets every day if we want them to thrive, so it is a responsibility and we have to give them time too, which sometimes I don't have.

In the end I decided to plant them, but not in the yard, but in the front of the house where the porch is, here the soil looks a little better and they could thrive. So with the help of a gardening shovel I made a furrow in the soil and sowed several pod seeds leaving about 10 to 15 centimeters between seeds and started watering.

On the third day the seeds started to germinate, some faster than others, but the good thing is that all the ones I sowed germinated. And now that the bushes are bigger and since they are vines and I don't want them to be crawling on the ground I decided that the best thing to do was to make a support for them so that they get entangled in it and stay there away from the ground and I think it is also better for the bush.

So I started to look around the house to see what I could find to make the support and I found some rods that even though they are rusty they would be useful, I also found some aluminum tubes that were from a pool cleaner. So I took them and stuck them in the ground, placed one at each end of the furrow and the other two in front of it leaving about 40 to 50 centimeters of separation.

Then with some old cables that were from a damaged air split I tied them to the tubes and ropes, first I tied them from the bottom up along the furrow, then I did the same with the other tubes that were in front and finally I intertwined them to form a kind of mesh so that the plants as they grow can grab them.

For the moment it is fine as it is, later I will see if it is necessary to expand it as the plants continue to grow and I have to do the same with some bean seeds that my son planted and although we do not have many plants it is an activity that we can do together and he likes to see the process until they bear fruit and we can enjoy them, especially the pods because I do not think the beans are good for much unless I plant many more.

In the yard we want to plant patillas, but there is Donatello, who is a morrocoy that my children have and he eats everything he finds. If we make a corral for him, maybe we can plant.

Hola amigos de Hive y Hive Garden, es la prkmera vez que paso a publicar en esta comunidad y es para contarles que hace unas semanas me regalaron unas semillas de vainitas para que las sembrara en la casa y junto con mi hijo Matías que le gusta mucho sembrar, lo hice y comparto hoy en el blog el crecimiento de las matas de vainitas.

Yo no estaba seguro si sembrarlas o no porque en la casa la tierra no es buena, la tierra es seca, casi arenosa y aquí en Margarita (Venezuela), donde vivo casi no llueve y el ciclo del servicio de agua es de casi un mes, así que el riego de las matas es un problema. Hay que cargar agua con tobos todos los días si queremos que prosperen entonces es una responsabilidad y hay que darles tiempo también, que a veces no tengo.

Al final decidí sembrarlas, pero no en el patio, sino en el frente de la casa dónde está el porche, acá la tierra se ve un poco mejor y podrían prosperar. Así que con ayuda de una pala de jardinería hice un surco en la tierra y sembré varias semillas de vainitas dejando más o menos de 10 a 15 centímetros de separación entre semillas y comencé con el riego.

Al al tercer día empezaron a germinar las semillas, unas más rápidas que otras, pero lo bueno es que me germinaron todas las que sembré. Y ahora que ya las matícas están más grandes y como éstas son del tipo de enredaderas y no quiero que se estén arrastrando en la tierra decidí que lo mejor era hacerles un soporte para que éstas se enreden en él y se mantengan ahí lejos de la tierra y creo que así es mejor también para la mata.

Entonces me puse a revisar en la casa a ver qué conseguía para armar el soporte y encontré unas cabillas que aunque están oxidadas me iban a servir, además encontré unos tubos de aluminio que eran de un limpiador de piscina. Así que las tomé y las claves en la tierra, coloque una en cada extremo del surco y las otras dos al frente de estás dejando como 40 a 50 centímetros de separación.

Luego con unos cables viejos que eran de una aire split dañado los fui amarrando de los tubos y cabillas, primero los amarre de abajo hacia arriba a lo largo del surco, después hice lo mismo con los otros tubos que estaban al frente y para terminar los entrelace entre ellos para formar una especie de malla para que las plantas a medida que vayan creciendo se agarren de estos.

Por los momentos está bien como quedó, más adelante veré si hace falta ampliarlo a medida que sigan creciendo las matas y tengo que hacer esto mismo con unas semillas de frijoles que sembró mi hijo y aunque no son muchas matas las que tenemos es una actividad que podemos hacer juntos y que a él le gusta ver el proceso hasta que dan frutos y los podemos disfrutar, más que todo las vainitas porque los frijoles no creo que den para mucho a menos que siembre muchas más.

En el patio queremos sembrar patilla, pero ahí está Donatello que es un morrocoy que tienen mis hijos y que se come todo lo que encuentra. Si le hacemos un corral quizá si sembramos.
